Activision has finally lifted the veil on the third installment in the Call of Duty Modern Warfare saga, which, going by its sneaky logo drop that aired earlier this week, will be heading to all major platforms on November 10, 2023. Not that this comes as much of a surprise, what with its creators revealing its plans to rebuild the entire trilogy from the ground up a fair while back. It was always in the cards, and it goes without saying that, even with a launch date slated so close to the end of the year, Call of Duty Modern Warfare 3 is bound to be one of the best-selling games of 2023, regardless.

Unfortunately, until either Infinity Ward, Activision, or Sledgehammer Games reveals the next batch of updates (in a Warzone 2.0 update, apparently), we won’t really know every minor detail. For what it’s worth, though, here’s everything we can currently tell you based on the information provided to date. Call of Duty Modern Warfare 3: what, when, and why?

What Is Call of Duty Modern Warfare 3?

Call of Duty Modern Warfare 3 is an upcoming first-person shooter by Sledgehammer Games, as well as a direct sequel to 2022’s Modern Warfare 2. Going by what’s been said so far, the game will pick up where it left off in the second remake, so on the off chance that you have yet to experience the last campaign, then perhaps now’s the time to brush up on the ins and outs and familiarize yourself with its characters and ongoing feuds.

On another note, in case you’ve yet to brush through the timeline in its entirety, it is worth mentioning that Call of Duty Modern Warfare is a reboot, and thus loosely based on the original trilogy that dropped just over a decade ago. So, if you thought the gift of foresight would help in this situation — think again, basically. Granted, we can expect to see our fair share of similarities, including characters, settings, and plot points, but if the first two reboots are anything to go by, then we can definitely expect to see something a little different from what released back in 2011.

Story

The last we saw of Modern Warfare was in 2022, at which point the conclusion unearthed a new global threat that seemingly pointed towards the scheming hands of Vladimir Makarov. Going by the trailer that dropped earlier this week, Modern Warfare 3 will be casting its focus over to this enemy, who, up until this point, has remained an underlying threat to Captain Price and the squad’s efforts to retain balance and order.

Of course, until Sledgehammer Games pick up the slack and start working on a new pre-launch trailer to outline the intricacies and what have you, we won’t really know how this conflict with Makarov will unravel. Needless to say that we can expect another treasure trove of in-game details at some stage over the next several weeks.

Gameplay

Having paved the way for most modern first-person shooters these past twenty-something years, it’s safe to say that most, if not all gamers with an interest in the genre will know exactly what to expect in Modern Warfare 3. Again, it’s a first-person shooter at heart, with its relatively short but surprisingly sprightly single-player campaign, and its ever-popular online multiplayer counterpart, which we’ll tap into shortly. So, for the time being, it’s best to think of it as a booster pack for Modern Warfare 2, if anything.

So, what’s going to happen to Warzone, then? Well, you can rest assured that it won’t be shutting its servers down anytime soon. In fact, there’ll be a whole new season to look forward to in December 2023, roughly one month after Modern Warfare 3 goes live. What’s more, it’ll introduce a whole new large-scale map, which will be called Las Almas.

In addition to the new campaign and Warzone season, word has it there’ll also be a new Zombies mode, too, which will be dubbed “Outbreak 2.0.” As for whether this will come bundled in with the base game or offered as paid DLC as part of a future update is still unknown. Either way, we can definitely expect to see all the classic modes and a few additional modernized bells and whistles to boot.

Development

It’s been a bit of a strange road for Modern Warfare, what with Activision first announcing its plans to release several new additions for the Warzone counterpart over 2022, and then ultimately deciding to develop Modern Warfare 3 only one year after the second. It wasn’t on anyone’s radar, weirdly enough, though it was something that fans of the series always knew was coming at some point on another. It just so happens that, well, it’s a couple of years sooner than anyone would’ve expected.

Modern Warfare 3 is being developed by Sledgehammer Games, the same team that brought life to Call of Duty: Vanguard back in 2021. And while the studio hasn’t had any major involvement in the Modern Warfare timeline since its initial reboot, it’s safe to say that the team will have the full support of both Infinity Ward and Treyarch, the two leading firms under the Call of Duty branding. So that’s something.

Trailer

YouTube Video

On the bright side, there is a trailer for Call of Duty Modern Warfare 3; it’s just a brief glimpse at its latest logo, though. And that’s somewhat surprising, seeing as we’re only a few months away from its release window. Nevertheless, you can check it out for yourself in the video embedded above.

Release Date, Platforms & Editions

The good news is, you needn’t worry about trying to find a copy of Modern Warfare 3 when it hits the shelves on November 10, 2023. In fact, you can pick it up on Xbox One, Xbox Series X|S, PlayStation 4, PlayStation 5, and PC. It’s unlikely that we’ll be seeing a Switch port, however, as the series itself has never really established stable ground with the handheld device. Other than that, though, you’re golden.

Interested in staying up to date with the next entry in the Call of Duty saga? If so, be sure to check in with Sledgehammer Games over on its official social feed for all the latest pre-launch updates here. If anything changes ahead of its release, we’ll be sure to fill you in on all the key details right here on gaming.net.

So, what’s your take? Will you be getting your hands on a copy of Call of Duty Modern Warfare 3 when it launches later this year? Let us know your thoughts over on our socials here.

Arcane Wonders, a team best known for its world-renowned board games, has lifted the veil on an all-new Call of Duty tabletop venture.

Other than the Risk adaptation it received back in 2018, Call of Duty hasn't really had the chance to shed its digital exclusivity yet. Fortunately for fans of the tabletop scene, though, Arcane Wonders has now made a pact with Activision to build a board game based entirely on the beloved first-person shooter saga. If all goes according to plan, then Call of Duty: The Board Game should arrive in 2024.

“We're thrilled to be partnering with Activision to bring the Call of Duty franchise to the tabletop,” said Bryan Pope, CEO of Arcane Wonders. “As life-long Call of Duty fans, we've worked hard to capture the scope, stakes, and sheer intensity of the video games in ways that Call of Duty fans and board gamers new and old will love. We're looking forward to bringing the unforgettable fun and competitive frenzy of Call of Duty to game night for years to come.”

What Is Call of Duty: The Board Game?

So, what will the gameplay entail? Well, that's just it — Arcane Wonders has yet to reveal any of it. That said, details surrounding it will no doubt come packaged as part of its Kickstarter launch, which is expected to go live this Fall. Until then, anyone who's even remotely interested in the joint venture should divert their attention over to Arcane Wonders' social feed here.

Arcane Wonders, for those who don't know, is responsible for Foundations of Rome, Air, Land & Sea, and Furnace. Going by the company's history, Call of Duty: The Board Game will be the first of its kind. About time, too.

So, what's your take? Will you be following the project over on Kickstarter when it drops later this year? Let us know your thoughts over on our socials here.

Call of Duty’s Modern Warfare 2 and Warzone 2 developer, Infinity Ward, has announced that it is investigating server issues reported by players. Players have been experiencing server issues since the launch of Season 3 on April 12.

Console and PC players have complained about issues such as bullet registration problems, delayed actions, and significant frame drops. Infinity Ward acknowledged the issue in a tweet on the official Call of Duty account. The developer stated that they were working to resolve the problems.

“We are investigating reports of server-related gameplay issues and are actively working to resolve them,” the official Call of Duty account tweeted.

In addition, the developers added the issue to Infinity Ward’s Modern Warfare 2 Trello board, where players can keep track of known issues that developers are addressing.

Several high-profile members of the Call of Duty community have also raised concerns over the problems. Warzone 2 streamer, JoeWo, has been vocal about the issues facing the game. He posted a video showing his parachute failing to deploy.

Activision launched a week-long Modern Warfare 2 free multiplayer trial on April 19. The trial includes access to new content introduced last week with Season 3. The new content includes a new core map, Pelayo’s Lighthouse, set on a small, craggy island during an evening storm, and gunfight mode.

The acknowledgement from Infinity Ward will reassure fans that the developers are taking the issues seriously and addressing them. Call of Duty has been hugely popular since it first launched in 2003. The game has remained a significant presence in the gaming world. This latest issue is likely to be a minor blip, and fans will hope that the game can return to full functionality soon.

The battle between the 18th installment in the Call of Duty series, Call of Duty: Vanguard, released in 2021, and the 19th installment, Call of Duty: Modern Warfare II, released in 2022, continues. While we don't always expect much difference between annual releases, Vanguard vs. Modern Warfare 2 is a different story due to their totally different settings and significant sales differences.

For starters, Vanguard is set during World War II, while Modern Warfare 2 is set in the present day. Therefore, the gameplay, from weapons to vehicles to maps, translates differently. Also, Modern Warfare 2 features far better sales than Vanguard, with the latter marking the franchise’s worst launch in over a decade.

Now, chances are other elements like graphics, combat, and performance will remain largely similar, though these gameplay items are also up for debate. All aspects considered, we’ve compiled a thorough Call of Duty Vanguard vs Modern Warfare 2 comparison guide to finally settle the “which is better?” debate once and for all.

Maps

Call of Duty Vanguard Vs Modern Warfare 2

Call of Duty fans often look back fondly on the maps used over the years, even more than the campaign missions and guns. That’s because COD maps ground a player’s experience, evoking memories and inspiring map remasters way after they’ve put their controller down.

Vanguard launched with 16 standard multiplayer maps, much more than any previous installment in the franchise. These were littered all over with distinctly colorful gardens, detailed buildings, and well-designed lanes.

Modern Warfare 2, on the other hand, offers 10 6v6 maps, and a few ground maps, with each bringing something unique to the table. Unlike the previous installment, Modern Warfare 2 focuses on a more centralized pinch point with wider open spaces that can be seen from each corner. These presented more opportunities for some really awesome chaos and fun.

While Vanguard offers variety in numbers, Modern Warfare 2’s innovation of cultivating new modes on huge maps takes the win here, with the migrated fan-favorite maps from Modern Warfare additional perk sealing it off with a bow.

Weapons

Call of Duty Vanguard Vs Modern Warfare 2

Weapons are often never lacking in Call of Duty’s war setting, so the difference tends to lie in how much crunch they pack, their efficiency in close, mid, or long range combat, and whether they prove reliable in the heat of battle.

However, in Vanguard vs Modern Warfare 2, weapons pose a much more notable difference, with Vanguard offering 38 base weapons and Modern Warfare 2, a whopping 51 base weapons at launch. On the one hand, Vanguard’s weapons feel mostly subpar, with not much uniqueness to them. On the other hand, each weapon in Modern Warfare 2 feels specially curated for its purpose, so much so that, switching between them feels like a routine thing to do throughout the game.

Without a doubt, Modern Warfare 2 takes the win here for the overwhelming choice of weapons that individually feel highly accurate and immensely satisfying to use.

Gunplay

Getting to the meat and potatoes of Call of Duty- games, gunplay is a non-negotiable factor every gamer will take out their magnifying glasses for. Every little detail counts toward making or breaking the experience, so consecutive games always make it their job to elevate rather than drag the action down.

On that note, Vanguard’s gunplay feels incredibly satisfying. It takes everything that worked from previous installments like mounting guns on surfaces or doorframes, and curates a tighter, smoother experience. Caveats like recoil still mimic “old school” guns, but once mastered, it all starts to feel pretty well-balanced. That said, there isn’t much that Vanguard does to distinguish itself from its predecessors, with gunplay feeling like a perfect blend of the past few years’ games.

This is where Modern Warfare 2 excels, with its unbeatable gunplay. The developers took it upon themselves to not only adopt past successes but also make them snappy and tactile. Each moment is action-packed in spades, with the most diverse mechanics (and the aforementioned weapons) at your disposal. Guns pack an extra crunch, headshots land with a punch, and the sound of armor shuttering doesn’t disappoint either.

While Vanguard chooses to follow a more realistic approach, which with its World War II setting, doubles down to sluggish gunplay, Modern Warfare 2 went the more quick-paced, adrenaline-infused route, which feels much more satisfying to play.

Campaign Missions

Call of Duty Vanguard Vs Modern Warfare 2 Campaign Missions

Campaign missions are another end-of-the-bargain COD game you can’t ever slack on. It’s where you sink your hours into, uncovering the story that carries the rest of the game on its shoulders.

Now, Vanguard presents a highly polished epic World War II story. However, it never quite reaches a crescendo thanks to the predictable route it takes. The single-player campaign is pretty solid, too, yet too heavily prescribed for veterans to like it. No one wants joyless linearity while playing solo, and frankly, it may just have landed Vanguard the worst campaign title in years.

Modern Warfare 2, on the other hand, is a change of pace from mildly satisfying to superb acting, a super engaging plot, and well-directed cinematics to boost. It’s also as diverse as the weapons and gunplay, taking players from aquatic scenes to forests in a way that feels fresh throughout the 6 to 10 hours of gameplay. Although the campaign gets more spectacle focused toward the middle and end, it’s never disappointing enough to derail the campaign as a whole.

Verdict

Call of Duty Vanguard Vs Modern Warfare 2

It’s no question that Modern Warfare 2 triumphs over Vanguard in more aspects than we can count. Sure, Modern Warfare 2 may feel too similar to Modern Warfare’s gunplay and setting, while Vanguard is an entirely new take on World War 2. However, this isn’t necessarily a bad thing. Vanguard’s uniqueness and multiple maps earn the game the right to be a notable addition to the Call of Duty franchise. However, Modern Warfare 2 far exceeds expectations with its diverse gameplay, innovation, and an overall satisfying experience of Call of Duty set in the present day.

So, what’s your take? Do you agree with our Call of Duty Vanguard vs Modern Warfare 2 verdict? Which of the two games do you prefer? Let us know over on our socials here or down in the comments below.

Microsoft has signed a ten-year legally binding contract that will result in several of its newly appointed IPs coming to Nintendo—Call of Duty included.

It was announced last year that, following the acquisition of Activision-Blizzard, Xbox would be entering a “commitment” to bring Call of Duty to Nintendo platforms. Well, as it turns out, today marks a rather important milestone for the gaming giant—as the two have finally sealed the deal over a legally binding contract that will run until 2033. As a result of this, both Call of Duty and a slew of Activision-Blizzard's previously exclusive works will be heading over to Switch in the near future.

Of course, Xbox has indeed been treading on hot coals ever since the Activision-Blizzard acquisition came knocking, mostly down to the fact that both PlayStation and Nintendo have continued to express their concerns about losing a lot of the developer's biggest franchises. And this doesn't just include the aforementioned shooter, but an enormous catalog of MMORPGs, too. Rest assured, though, that with the newly established contract, Switch users will in fact remain within the loop.

What Comes Next?

So, what does this mean for Switch users moving forward? Well, judging by the contract, consumers will soon be able to search, purchase, and download a wide selection of Xbox games on the Nintendo eShop. As for what other Activision-Blizzard games besides Call of Duty will be coming to the platform, however, is still anybody's guess. Needless to say, though, that it's a big step for Xbox, and an even bigger one for Nintendo.

So, what's your take? Are you excited to see a slew of Xbox games coming to Nintendo? Let us know over on our socials here or down in the comments below.

Weapons make all the difference in Call of Duty: Modern Warfare II, however marginal the kill count is. Sure, you may master how to fire some weapons like a pro. But mastery can only take you so far. You need to build up skills while also going after the best weapons available. Fortunately, Call of Duty: Modern Warfare II offers plenty of variety of weapons to choose from. Each weapon in Call of Duty: Modern Warfare II has its unique perks you can maximize depending on your preferred attack type.

Snipers may work well in your favor if you’re better at firing shots from a distance. While if you’re quick on your feet, a lightning-fast SMG could come in handy. With over 50 weapons, you may find it tough to settle on your favorite. Not to worry, though, as these five best weapons in Call of Duty: Modern Warfare II have proven themselves battle worthy.

5. Lachmann Sub (Submachine Gun)

YouTube Video

Although the Lachmann Sub, also called MP5, is a B-tier weapon, it’s a pretty powerful beast that might as well be ranked top-tier. Where it falls short in speed, the Lachmann Sub more than makes up for it in accuracy. So, if you feel like you’ve polished your speed but need more help in firing accurate headshots, the Lachmann Sub can come in handy.

Additionally, the Lachmann Sub lacks recoil, which helps to take precise shots further. Especially at close to medium range, you want all, if not most, of your shots to count. Take the previous Call of Duty players who would gravitate toward the Lachmann Sub for its high total kill rate at close-range as proof of reliability. This one’s simple. If you feel uneasy about how accurate your shots are, Lachmann Sub can easily help take those jitters away.

4. TAQ-56 (Assault Rifle)

YouTube Video

The TAQ 56 assault rifle is another tried, tested, and true must-have for landing accurate, deadly shots. Unfortunately, it falls under the S-tier category, so it may take a while to unlock it. But once you do, it’s all smooth sailing dealing high damage with equally high accuracy.  This is great for players looking to switch between close range and keeping a distance. Either way, you’ll still capitalize on landing those headshots and incurring damage.

If you’re a diehard Call of Duty fan who’s played previous entries, you may recognize the TAQ-56 as the classic SCAR weapon so hyped about. Now, it’s better than ever, rebranded to an even more reliable low recoil plus unique iron sight through and through. Its recoil control, in particular, is the most steady in the assault rifle class. A fact that more than speaks for just how cool the TAQ-56 is.

3. SA-B 50 (Marksman Rifle)

YouTube Video

Marksman rifles may feel like the road less traveled. However, the SA-B 50 might just be shifting the narrative later than never. If you’re more inclined to the adrenaline-infused run-and-gun close-range fights, the SA-B 50 is built perfectly for that. Kind of like a shotgun, except with an ADS so high it feels like the SA-B 50 is in its own league.

Even if you’d like to keep more distance, the SA-B 50 has got you covered with an incredible accuracy that needs no “more than one” shot to get the job done. So, would you like to fasten a fast-paced run and gun setup or take the more bolt-action rifle route at the medium range? In either scenario, the SA-B 50 is surprisingly mobile, leveled up with increased maneuverability to adapt lightning-fast to the demanding fast-firing needs of the battlefield.

2. M4 (Assault Rifle)

YouTube Video

The M4 is no stranger to the game, having been most players’ top-choice weapon across previous Call of Duty titles over the years. That should give you some sense of comfort over how reliable the M4 is. In fact, among all assault rifles, it’s the best one there is if you’re looking for a weapon that has stood the test of time.

Without bothering about which attachments to amp up the M4 with, the initial configurations more than satisfy battlefield standards with their strength, accuracy, and power-high stats. If you’re more of the run-and-gun type of gamer, you’re more than welcome to take the M4 out for a spin. Or, if you’re a safe haven gamer, wanting to pick out a hidden spot to pick off players one by one from, the M4 can handle that too, like a pro.

You won’t need to break a sweat to get the M4 since it’s one of the first assault rifles you unlock. So, if not for the high praise CoD players give to it, at least try it out and see how well it plays. Rest assured; you’ll be more likely to carry it along with you through to when the credits start to roll.

1. Kastov-74U (Assault Rifle)

YouTube Video

Picking the best weapon in Call of Duty: Modern Warfare II was tough. But, eventually, the Kastov-74U made a good case we couldn’t sweep under the rug. An S-tier weapon (yes, it might take a while to get your hands on this one), the Kastov 74-U boasts generous recoil control, high mobility, and fast time-to-kill stats. I mean, what more could you want?

Kastov-74U is said to fit the SMG category a lot more. No arguments there, seeing as it packs an incredulous amount of stopping power than an SMG could ever even dream of. Compared to the M4, Kastov-74U packs a heavier punch in the close to medium range. It’s, perhaps, the only aspect that towers it above the M4 in the AR category. All that's left is to find an attachment to counter the gun's recoil, and you'll be able to drop-dead opponents like it's your birthright.

So, what’s your take? Do you agree with our five best weapons in Call of Duty: Modern Warfare II? Are there more weapons we should know about? Please let us know in the comments or over on our socials here.

If there’s one thing that will guarantee a win in Call of Duty Warzone 2, it’s your loadout. After all, this is a battle royale game whose sole aim is to crown the last man standing on the battlefield. With season 1 being in the public domain for a while now and season 2 just around the corner, many Call of Duty fans has come to an agreement as to which loadout proves reliable, as well as preparing themselves for the upcoming battle of the season. As of now, most loadouts have been streamlined to about the same caliber. However, there are still quite a few that remain more dependable than the rest.

Loadouts include meta weapons, equipment, and special perks you don’t want to miss. For meta weapons, we’re looking for those that need the least reload, fire the fastest, and pierce through that reinforced armor like a piece of cake. As for equipment and perks, we’re looking for undeniably beneficial items that will guarantee a head start rather than get in your way. So, if you’re wondering which loadouts to collect or purchase at “The Shop,” these five best loadouts in Call of Duty Warzone 2 are the top sets that deliver incredible results on the battlefield.

5. TAQ-56 + MP5 Lachmann Sub + Stun Grenade + Weapons Specialist

TAQ-56

The TAQ-56 weapon, or SCAR-L, is a must-have assault rifle on the battlefield simply because it won’t let you down when the stakes are high. With just four shots, your opponent should drop dead. As long as the four shots hit at least the upper torso, you’re good to go.

Any Call of Duty fan will tell you to get a killer long-range weapon plus a really fast mid to close-range weapon for when opponents start raining down on you like flies. At such a time, you don’t need accuracy. Rather, you need a high-speed weapon that fires fast like fireworks and needs the fewest reloads. This is why we paired TAQ-56 with the Lachmann Sub, or MP5, submachine gun (SMG). From here, you’re all set. Perhaps the only add-on you can make is a stun grenade and weapon specialist perks combo, and you’re good to go.

4. MCPR-300 + Kastov 762 + Semtex + Specter

Best Loadouts in Call of Duty Warzone 2

Sniper lovers can consider the MCPR-300 weapon. Although it’s less popular among COD players, it does have notable potential to do lethal damage. All you need to do is improve your aim in the upper torso area. Otherwise, all the other handling necessities are made easier for you. Reloading is slightly faster, and the recoil is more controlled, thus saving you from the little awkward moments you might have experienced before.

On the contrary, the Kastov 762 has slightly slower handling. This is great, though, for this specific loadout, because you can then utilize this powerful assault rifle’s potential to the fullest. It oddly behaves like an SMG, with its ability to obliterate several enemies in mere milliseconds. Consequently, most COD players are gravitating toward it more. It has raw firepower, even from afar, and tallies up an impressive total kill rate. For this loadout, consider a Semtex and Specter perk combo, especially since this loadout works great at mid to long-range.

3. M4 + SP-R 208/Lachmann Sub + Stun Grenade + Weapons Specialist

Best Loadouts in Call of Duty Warzone 2

The M4 assault rifle is more of a staple in the series. It’s become a fan-favorite simply for its more-than-one specialties. You don’t even need to curate an attachment combo for it to deliver. This means beginners can give this one a try. It’s a powerful mid-range rifle that has been tried, tested, and proven to be reliable and performant over the years.

Because the M4 is so good and versatile, it’s easy to pair it with another powerful counterpart with good recoil control and an impressive damage range. This is why you can pair it with either a high-fire-rate weapon like the Lachmann Sub or the SP-R 208 marksman rifle. An SP-R 208 can easily drop enemies with a precise headshot. It fires fast, with no moment to spare. The only thing is that it may deal less potent damage at close range compared to others. So, probably geer toward it if you prefer to pick off enemies from a distance.

2. RPK + Fennec 45 + Semtex + Stun Grenade + Weapons Specialist

RPK

Like the M4, the RPK light machine gun (LMG) isn’t anything new to the scene. It’s a tried, tested, and come-true devastating, close-range weapon. It may sometimes be somewhat sluggish for beginners due to its heavy weight. However, the RPK tends to feel more like an SMG with manageable recoil and faster reload speed. With the right attachments, you can even amp it up to deal just as much damage at long range.

A way to combat the heaviness of the RPK is to pair it with a lightweight SMG like the Fennec 45. Although a seemingly timid-looking sidearm to have, the Fennec 45 is a pretty powerful close-range weapon capable of dropping multiple enemies in one clip. Combined, this loadout pushes the RPK’s damage output to the limits. Plus, it offers very little to no recoil to worry about. Pair it up with a stun grenade, semtex, and weapons specialist combo, and you’re good to go.

1. Signal 50 + Kastov-74u + Semtex + Heartbeat Sensor

Best Loadouts in Call of Duty Warzone 2

Now let's look at the best loadouts in Call of Duty Warzone 2. If you’re a sniper lover and feel like your strength lies less in accuracy and more in speed, you might want to consider the Signal 50, which stands out from the crowd for its shockingly high fire rate. Plus, you don’t need to always maintain distance. You can always get as close as you can to maximize damage output.

The signal can feel heavy for some. So, the Kastov-74u can save the day with its smooth handling. Similarly, the Kastov-74u AR can be used at close or long-range. It deals high damage and allows you to move through buildings with ease. Simply switch between the high fire rate Signal 50 and the high-speed, close-range dominant Kastov-74u to skid through Warzone 2 like it’s an everyday gig.

So, what’s your take? Do you agree with our five best loadouts in Call of Duty Warzone 2? Are there more loadouts we should know about? Let us know down in the comments or over on our socials here.

Microsoft has reached an agreement with Nintendo to bring the popular Call of Duty franchise to Nintendo platforms. Head of Xbox Phil Spencer revealed the news on Twitter, stating that Microsoft has formally committed to bringing Call of Duty to Nintendo platforms over the next ten years.

The announcement comes amid Microsoft’s ongoing acquisition of Call of Duty’s developer, Activision Blizzard. According to Spencer, Microsoft will bring the first-person shooter to Nintendo consoles should the acquisition go through. Authorities have previously raised concerns over the pending acquisition, citing that the deal might hinder competition. Whether COD will come to Nintendo consoles depends on the US Federal Trade Commission's approval of the contentious acquisition. The acquisition deal is expected to go through by mid-2023.

Numerous regulatory agencies, notably the UK's Competition and Markets Authority, have opposed the merger. Government agencies and regulatory bodies have been concerned about the deal and its possible effects on the video game industry.

According to Spencer’s announcement, Microsoft is committed to bringing more games to more people “however they choose to play.” Additionally, he stated that after the acquisition is complete, Microsoft will still keep selling Call of Duty on Steam.

Recent reports have indicated that Microsoft offered Sony a deal to retain the Call of Duty series on the PlayStation. Brad Smith, vice chairman and president of Microsoft, also noted that a similar deal for PlayStation is still available.

Nintendo gaming systems haven't had a Call of Duty game in almost a decade. The last COD on the platform was Call of Duty Ghosts, which launched for the Wii U in 2013. Since then, Nintendo has always missed out on having one of the most successful video game series ever.

What's your take? Do you look forward to playing Call of Duty games on the Nintendo Switch? Let us know on our socials here or in the comments below.

A battle royale is only as good as its roster of weapons. The recent release of Call of Duty: Warzone 2 has thrown fans into a frenzy. Call of Duty: Modern Warfare II's sequel is a big step up from what came before. The game now features AI soldiers and new borders to explore. Moreover, you can also battle it out with AI and user-controlled opponents for loot in the extraction game mode.

As with every battle royale game, you will start with a limited inventory and expand as you progress. Activision's latest installment has ten weapon classes, which you can unlock by increasing your military rank or upgrading the weapon's base. However, with a decent set of ammunition to choose from, it's only suitable to equip yourself with the upper crust's best. Here are the five best weapons in Call of Duty: Warzone 2.

5. FSS Hurricane

World of Warcraft: Dragonflight Review

The FSS Hurricane returns to Call of Duty: Warzone 2 after being featured in the game's prequel. The FSS is a submachine gun (SMG) manufactured by Tempus Armament, a weapons manufacturer based in the game. You can quickly tell the weapons they manufacture from their muffed fist logo holding a spiked mace.

The FSS Hurricane's best features are its sharp point accuracy and large magazine size. The low fire rate and kill time can seem like a downer. However, the SMG makes up for it with various attachments. Although season 1 introduces the BAS-P as an SMG, it doesn't come close to the FSS Hurricane.

You can access the weapon during the Ghost Team mission. After taking control of Gaz, you'll be tasked with navigating to hangar 3. Of course, you'll meet resistance, but you can find the weapon inside the trailer a few yards from the soldiers firing at you. Walk into the trailer, and you'll find the weapon lying on the desk, waiting in the wings.

4. Signal 50

The Signal 50 is your best bet for long-range firing. The sniper fires the fastest rounds and has an impressive recoil thanks to the reciprocating barrel. You don't have to worry about losing your target after firing a shot.

On the downside, this rifle has poor handling speeds and low damage. These disappointing features may make you rethink equipping your avatar with the weapon. However, it makes up for it with a high refire rate. You can set up your station miles away and still strike down your enemy while drawing little attention to your base. Compared to rifles that deal more damage, the Signal 50 stands out for its impeccable long-range.

Moreover, the weapon has the best attachments and loadouts. The best part is that you don't have to upgrade many other weapons since most unlocks are unique to the Signal 50. You can only access this sniper by reaching player level 4 and earning enough XP. You can accomplish this by completing all the challenges and modes.

3. Victus XMR

Weapons in Call of Duty Warzone 2

Another sniper for the list, the Victus XMR, is significantly better than the Signal 50 for the impressive damage it deals. You stand a better chance of downing your enemies with the weapon's fascinating 275-damage headshot. One shot can take down even the most heavily armored foe.

What's more, this weapon handles better despite seeming like quite the heavy killing machine. Surprisingly, it handles better than the Signal 50. The weapon is available in the Season 1 Battle Pass and is unlocked after the successful completion of the level.

As expected, the sniper has a downside: a low fire rate. However, the bolt-action sniper makes up for it with its long range and bullet velocity. Once you fire from a distance, you won't have to fire twice. The loadout and attachments can also transform the sniper into a top-tier annihilator.

2. M4

The M4 is a lethal weapon owing to its high damage deals and low recoil. The weapon does an impressive job at both medium and close range. As a starter weapon, it gives newbies the thrill and features they need for a hit. However, you'll find other, more powerful weapons after making progress in the game.

Moreover, the weapon is flexible and can fit into any class option. As part of the weapons, you'll get to unlock first in the game, the M4 draws you closer to gold camo. Also, its versatility allows for a wide range of loadouts and attachments, making it a compelling choice for warfare in Call of Duty: Warzone 2.

Aside from its high fire rate and robust stopping power, the M4 has spot-on accuracy ranking it top among the mean killing machines. You can unlock this assault rifle by progressing to level 4 and accessing the custom loadouts. Level four allows you to access additional attachments and weapons, such as the M16.

1. STB 556

Weapons in Call of Duty Warzone 2

Making it to the top of our list is the STB 556. You can't simply go wrong with this assault rifle. It is the equivalent of the FSS Hurricane in the AR category for its impressive range and effectiveness. The weapon doesn't have recoil, meaning you can fire at will and not lose sight of your target.

Undeniably, no other assault rifles can match up to the tremendous power the STB 556 holds. It may come close to the Kastov 545, but the Kastov beats it at having a better stopping power. Notwithstanding, the STB 556 has a strong fire rate that compares to the M4.

It may take a while to access this weapon, but it is worthwhile in the end. You will need to level up to rank 41. You will need to spend a few hours on the game and defeat a pool of opponents to reach this rank.

So, what's your take on our pick five best weapons in Call of Duty: Warzone 2? Which can't you wait to try out first? Are there other weapons we should add to the list? Let us know on our socials here or in the comments below.

Modern Warfare 2 has been a smash hit in terms of both sales and player retention. One of the elements that the developers at Infinity Ward have improved on immensely is map design. The newest entry into the Call of Duty franchise features many maps that range in scope and scale. With that being said, some maps certainly stand above others. So without further ado, here are our picks for the 5 Best Multiplayer Maps in Call of Duty Modern Warfare 2.

5. Taraq

Taraq is a map that offers a ton of long-range combat. This map has multiple sightlines of which to take advantage. If players can control these heavily populated areas around the middle of the map, then they will be able to dominate their opponents. Additionally, this map allows players who favor sniping to utilize their range against their opponents. There is not much cover throughout the middle of the map, so be careful if you are trying to cross it.

This map is enjoyable to play on most modes. However, in the Hardpoint game mode, it can bog down the action if the Hardpoint is in the open. This map is inspired by many different desert locations, with a nice mix of destroyed buildings to use for cover. If players utilize their cover effectively, then this can be a map in which killstreaks will do very well, as there aren't a lot of places where players can run from these streaks. A few destroyed buildings and various other means of cover break up the wide-open landscape of this map. All in all, Taraq is a map that players who favor killstreaks being strong will undoubtedly enjoy.

4. El AsiloCall of Duty Modern Warfare II review

El Asilo is a map that utilizes various areas within its borders. There are buildings dotted along the outskirts in which close-quarters combat can be found. But if you want to find flanking routes, this map has you covered as well. There is a wide field that circles around the map that can offer a significant amount of flanking potential if used correctly. The interiors on this map also look stunning, with considerable detail put into them. This makes them feel less like assets and more like lived-in spaces.

This map plays very well in the Hardpoint game mode, with many different points of interest that make for great fights. For example, if teams get into a fight over the radio tower on this map or the Hardpoint spawns there, this can be an opportunity for great moments in the game. Altogether, this map has a lot to offer players regardless of the game mode. If players have not tried this map in their rotation, Feel free to try it because you might like what you find. You might find it is one of the best maps in Modern Warfare 2.

3. Al Bagra Fortress

Al Bagra Fortress is one of the most aesthetically exciting maps in the Call of Duty: Modern Warfare 2 roster. With its winding corridors and archways, this map adds an intricate element to the Call of Duty: Modern Warfare 2 map. Additionally, players can find themselves using verticality to their advantage as there are many courtyards of which to take advantage. This map has a striking view of the many chokepoints on the map. There are quite a few doorways that you can take advantage of and control for your team.

For example, if players take the high ground in a building and look out, they will be able to control the foot traffic in these narrow corridors. While this map doesn't have the most vibrant color palette, it makes up for this with the attention to detail and the various armaments seen strowed about the map. So if you like an aesthetic for your map that is a bit historical, then this map has you covered with its different alleyways and entrances.

2. Breenbergh Hotel

This map, from the beta, has been a standout favorite of many players. The map takes place within a hotel in Amsterdam. The developers at Infinity Ward got in trouble for their use of this location without permission which means this map has quite a bit of controversy surrounding it. As a multiplayer map, though, it serves its purpose quite well. This map is a joy to play, visually stunning, and full of detail.

One of many players' favorites from the beta, this map actually had to be removed from the game and then added back in. It has many different flanking routes that you can use as well as a catwalk that connects various parts of the map. It should be noted. However, using the catwalk makes you incredibly vulnerable to many directions. In addition, working your way through this map can be pretty tricky at times, as if you lock down an area within it, it tends to stay that way. In closing, this map has a lot to offer players and is one of the shining examples of Infinity Ward's map design is on point making it one of Modern Warfare 2's best maps.

1 . Farm 18

Farm 18 is one of the maps that stood out to many players during the beta. While it may look dreary, this map has many elements that keep the gameplay on this map feeling fresh. There are many different areas for you to go through, as this map features various warehouses for you to get into gunfights in. there are many close quarters in which a submachine gun can prove very useful. This map, while not being the most vibrant, is undoubtedly one of the best maps to play on.

Players can go back and forth on this map, which lends itself well to the replayability of this map, so you aren't dreading it when it comes up in the rotation. Additionally, this map lends itself well to hard-fought Hardpoint matches as there are many different places in which the Hardpoint can go. In conclusion, this map shows off developers Infinity Ward at their best in this newest title. This map has some of the elements of classic Call of Duty maps that players have been clamoring for. So it is easy to see why people have gravitated to this map in Call of Duty: Modern Warfare 2.

In a recent announcement, Activision Blizzard revealed that their highly anticipated video game Call of Duty: Modern Warfare 2 has reached a staggering $1 billion in sales just 10 days after its release.

This news comes hot on the heels of the game breaking its franchise record by reaching $800 million in sales just three days after its release. In comparison, its predecessor, Call of Duty: Black Ops II, took 15 days to reach the same $1 billion in sales milestone.

However, Modern Warfare 2 falls short of breaking records set by another blockbuster video game, Grand Theft Auto V, which reached the $1 billion mark in an impressive three days back in 2013.

Despite receiving mixed reviews and criticism for its bugs and similarities to previous Call of Duty titles, Modern Warfare 2 continues to dominate the video game market and shows no signs of slowing down anytime soon.

This latest achievement further cements Activision Blizzard's position as one of the leaders in the gaming industry and solidifies Call of Duty as one of the most successful video game franchises in history.

Call of Duty: WarZone 2.0

Now, we await the release of Call of Duty: WarZone 2.0, which was teased during Call of Duty’s: Next project. Call of Duty: WarZone 2.0, which is part of Modern Warfare® 2’s Season 1, which is expected to launch on November 16, will share the same technologies used in Modern Warfare 2.

So, what’s your take? Have you bought your copy of Modern Warfare 2? Did the game live up to your expectations? Let us know over on our socials here or down in the comments below.

Call of Duty: Modern Warfare 2 developer, Infinity Ward, has released all of the updates and tweaks that will be made to the game before launch. The developer is making the changes in response to the feedback from the beta phase of the game. In a post on the official website, infinity ward listed a number of significant changes it is making to the audio, enemy visibility, UI, and movement.

First, infinity ward disclosed that the developers have improved enemy visibility. The developers removed nameplates making it difficult to differentiate a friend from an enemy. According to the developer, the visibility has now improved as enemies will have diamond-shaped indicators over their heads to make it easy to spot them in the game. Additionally, the developers have made adjustments to the contrast and illumination for better enemy visibility.

Additionally, Infinity Ward has fine-tuned the audio in Modern Warfare 2 before release. The developers have increased the volume of footsteps. Therefore, enemy players can now get closer to their targets before they can hear footsteps. The sound of teammates' footsteps should also be lower for players. Infinity Ward has also addressed one significant drawback of using the Dead Silence field upgrade. Previously, it was loud enough for players to hear when opponents used the stealth ability.  The field upgrade's activation sound effect has now been toned down.

While the menus in Modern Warfare 2‘s beta were a bit cumbersome, they should be more streamlined for the full release. The developer revealed that they have upgraded Modern Warfare 2's UI making it easier to navigate menus and change loadouts.

The developers have also implemented updates to the third-person playlist in Modern Warfare 2. Players will now remain in the third-person view unless they use a scope with a magnification factor of 4x. Previously, whenever a player aimed down sights with any weapon, it would trigger a switch to first-person perspective. The developers have also implemented changes to weapon tuning, player movements, and matchmaking.

Lots of gaming news took place today, September 15. We had the Tokyo Game Show in the early hours of the morning, followed by the Call of Duty Next event shortly after. Which is getting fans geared up for the October 28th release of Call of Duty: Modern Warfare 2 and Warzone 2.0. However, the Call of Duty Next event, took place expressly today, as the game's open multiplayer beta launches tomorrow for those of you who have pre-ordered on PlayStation. If you aren't a member of that group, here's when you can get your hands on the open multiplayer beta.

The Call of Duty Next event quickly revealed game details via a reveal trailer. And, in true Call of Duty fashion, it was as theatrical as we expected. It does, however, provide a sneak peek at all of the features coming to Call of Duty: Modern Warfare 2 and Warzone 2.0. And we've broken down all of the important details for you right below. So for now, sit back, relax, and take in all the Call of Duty: NEXT Reveal Trailer has to offer.

Call of Duty: Next Reveal Trailer Details

Right away, the teaser gives us a glimpse at all of the new maps coming to the game. It then cuts to a clip of a squad swimming, implying that swimming features will be present in this year's edition. Following that, it looks like takedowns are making a comeback, as we had hoped. Most notably, we can see at 0:55 in the video that Dolphin Dives have officially returned. Which we haven't had since Black Ops 1 and should bring back all of the nostalgia in movement.

A hostage mode can also be seen as a new game mode. There's an action shot of shooting while dangling from a ledge, which will be a fun new element to experiment with. We witnessed the reintroduction of the Modern Warfares Javelin missile launcher to combat aerial killstreaks and vehicles. Aside from that, we saw traditional killstreaks and equipment like the heartbeat sensor, throwing knives, and precise airstrikes.

The trailer ends with a plunge into Warzone 2.0. It provides a great look at the new map and environmental elements coming to the battle royale. Which appear to contain canals with armored boats for naval combat. Finally, it emphasizes a third-person mode. This is something we haven't seen in a Call of Duty game since the original Modern Warfare 2 back in 2009. However, bringing it back to the reimagined title is fitting, and it should come with some entertaining playlists to test it out on.

So, what's your take? Are you excited for Call of Duty Modern Warfare 2 and Warzone 2.0? What feature or game mode are you most looking forward too? Let us know in the comments below or over on our socials here!

Activision has officially announced Call of Duty Warzone Mobile. The publisher revealed that the game, which was initially called Project Aurora, is officially Call of Duty Warzone Mobile. Activision will also officially reveal the game soon.

“I'm happy to announce that the real title for Project Aurora is Call of Duty Warzone Mobile,”  Activision's vice president of mobile, Chris Plummer, said.

Plummer revealed the news while making an appearance at the Gamespot presentation. The official Call of Duty: Warzone Mobile Twitter account also shared a teaser video. The short video does not show any other details beyond the movie's actual title.

During a GameSpot presentation, Plummer also elaborated on the team's experience while creating a portable version of the battle-royale shooter for mobile devices.

“Our core experience here is to bring Warzone to mobile for the first time, and that has a lot of interesting challenges to it because the scale and ambition that Warzone has always had… we want to do that justice,” he said.

Activision will officially reveal Warzone Mobile during COD Next on September 15, 2022. Activision has billed the showcase as an “era-defining” event that will disclose the impending future of Call of Duty. The event's main focus is on Call of Duty: Modern Warfare II and Call of Duty: Warzone 2. We can expect fresh details about the two games. In addition, the event will also feature mobile games, and more specifically, Warzone Mobile.

Activision announced in March that it was working on Project Aurora, which we know know as COD: Warzone Mobile. Call of Duty: Warzone is a free-to-play game launched in 2020 and gained 100 million players in just 13 months. A mobile game was therefore inevitable given the success of the game on PlayStation, Xbox, and PC. The publisher has not revealed the release date for the mobile game.

What is your take on this? What do you hope to see in the mobile version of Call of Duty Warzone? Let us know here on our socials or in the comments below.
