Call of Duty Warzone Mobile

Activision has officially announced Call of Duty Warzone Mobile. The publisher revealed that the game, which was initially called Project Aurora, is officially Call of Duty Warzone Mobile. Activision will also officially reveal the game soon.

“I'm happy to announce that the real title for Project Aurora is Call of Duty Warzone Mobile,”  Activision's vice president of mobile, Chris Plummer, said.

Plummer revealed the news while making an appearance at the Gamespot presentation. The official Call of Duty: Warzone Mobile Twitter account also shared a teaser video. The short video does not show any other details beyond the movie's actual title.

During a GameSpot presentation, Plummer also elaborated on the team's experience while creating a portable version of the battle-royale shooter for mobile devices.

“Our core experience here is to bring Warzone to mobile for the first time, and that has a lot of interesting challenges to it because the scale and ambition that Warzone has always had… we want to do that justice,” he said.

Activision will officially reveal Warzone Mobile during COD Next on September 15, 2022. Activision has billed the showcase as an “era-defining” event that will disclose the impending future of Call of Duty. The event's main focus is on Call of Duty: Modern Warfare II and Call of Duty: Warzone 2. We can expect fresh details about the two games. In addition, the event will also feature mobile games, and more specifically, Warzone Mobile.

Activision announced in March that it was working on Project Aurora, which we know know as COD: Warzone Mobile. Call of Duty: Warzone is a free-to-play game launched in 2020 and gained 100 million players in just 13 months. A mobile game was therefore inevitable given the success of the game on PlayStation, Xbox, and PC. The publisher has not revealed the release date for the mobile game.
