New EA Partnership Renames FIFA Series as EA Sports FC
The rumors and speculation about EA Sports FIFA changing its name struck true this morning. The popular soccer brand will no longer be known as EA Sports FIFA; instead, it will be known as EA Sports FC. While this year's title will remain FIFA 23, as per their agreement with EA, the new title, EA Sports FC, will arrive in 2023.
All of this stems from FIFA's October 2021 rights negotiations with EA Sports. With the main purpose of extending and developing the game to bullish and optimistic heights. At the time, FIFA commented that “The future of gaming and eSports for football stakeholders must involve more than one party controlling and exploiting all rights.”. With today's, May 10th announcement, FIFA looks to be getting precisely what they wanted. As noted in EA's blog post, the new collaboration with EA Sports comes with “300+ Licensing Partners Across the Sport to Build the Biggest Football Club in the World”.

The Future of FIFA
the future vision of FIFA is widely ambitious. “Our vision for EA SPORTS FC is to create the largest and most impactful football club in the world,” said Electronic Arts CEO Andrew Wilson. Thank's to the new agreement, FIFA might be losing its name, but its acquisition will be granting players “access to more than 19,000 athletes across 700 teams, in 100 stadiums and over 30 leagues around the world.” according to EA's post.
EA goes on to mention “EA has developed the most extensive and comprehensive network of partnerships and licenses in the sport,”. Some of these include Laliga, Bundesliga, MLS, UEFA, Series A, and CONMEBOL Libertadores. Also iconic leagues like EUFA Champions Leauge, EUFA Europa Leauge, and the Premier League, with more to be announced. Although one big name brand, Nike has already disclosed their partnership.
You'll be reluctant to hear that all of FIFA's core game modes will be transferring over to EA Sports FC. Which includes “experiences, modes, leagues, tournaments, leagues, clubs and athletes,”. Not to mention Ultimate Team, career mode, Pro Clubs and Volta. With more information on the new EA Sports FC coming in the Summer of 2023.
