You would be hard-pressed to find a better price to pay for games, than free. And through the power of the PlayStation Plus system, many players are able to enjoy Free-to-play titles which are great. This allows players to explore experiences free of charge with no strings attached. This is wonderful for the consumer. So today, we are here to highlight some of the best free games on offer. That said, enjoy our picks for the 5 Best Free-to-Play Games on PlayStation Plus.

5. Fortnite

Starting off our list of the best free-to-play games on PlayStation Plus, we have Fortnite. Now, Fortnite is a game that essentially took over the gaming space overnight, with its consistent content updates and adaptability. The world of Fortnite is one that is absolutely massive, and malleable to the point where it can become anything the player wishes it to be. This adaptability, coupled with its more cartoony art style, and free-to-play model make it really stand out. The game mainly focuses on third-person battle royale gameplay where players duke it out to be the last ones standing.

This can lead to some rather tense matches. Where the game differentiates itself is with its building and destruction systems. Players are able to build fortifications in order to protect themselves. And while there is now a mode in the game that does away with this feature when it was released it gave Fortnite an element other games couldn't replicate. Currently, Fortnite is a game that can essentially become whatever the players wish to pay at the time. For this versatility, we consider it one of the best free-to-play games on PlayStation Plus.

4. Call of Duty: Warzone 2.0

Staying in a somewhat similar vein with free-to-play shooters, we have Call of Duty: Warzone 2.0. When many fans found out that the popular battle-royale game mode for Call of Duty was being reworked, they were trepidatiously excited. This wasn't without reason, as many players felt that the developers were abandoning the current version of the game to scrap it for another. However, when Warzone 2.0 launched, players' worries were quickly quelled. This introduced quite a bit of new content to the game, as well as several new mechanics.

This served to not only make the game stand out from its previous iteration but game it its own identity as well. There were a few changes such as changing how loadouts were changed mid-match. As well as other sweeping changes that for the most part, improved the game. While there are definitely detractors of where this game is heading, it is still an amazingly solid experience overall. To close, Call of Duty: Warzone 2.0i is one of the best free-to-play games on PlayStation Plus.

3. Rocket League

Changing things up a bit with our next entry, here we have Rocket LeagueRocket League is a game in which players will essentially play soccer with incredibly powerful cars. This is a game that requires immense skill and strategy. This is due to the fact that the game itself has an insanely high skill ceiling for players to learn. That said, the skill floor is rather low, and anyone can pick up this free-to-play PlayStation Plus title and play it. This is great, as it manages to balance the more hardcore elements of the game, with the more casual setting, which can be difficult to do.

No matter how you choose to play, this game is certainly one of the most entertaining on our list on a base level. This is due to the fact that the game is easy to follow, and easy to pick up, but difficult to master. This makes it well worthwhile for players to put time into learning the game and its mechanics. Additionally, the game being free-to-play removes any barrier of entry really, which is great. All around, if you are looking for a solid experience on PlayStation PlusRocket League is a great choice.

2. NARAKA: Bladepoint

Next up on our list of the best free-to-play PlayStation Plus titles, we have NARAKA: BladepointNARAKA: Bladepoint is a game that is a battle royale, which a twist. This is a game that takes the battle royale formula and applies it to a melee fighting game. The game comes equipped with classes for players to choose from, each with its own uses, and unique abilities. This is great, as it gives many of the game's characters and classes identity when playing. The game also has a surprising amount of weaponry in the game, for players to master.

These weapons vary in their skill floors and skill ceilings, but each is able to be wielded by a novice player. This is great, as it eliminates the idea that simply getting more powerful weapons in the game is a surefire way to win. This is wonderful, as it places more of an emphasis on individual player skills. So, for players who enjoy melee fighting games, and want to see how that plays out in a battle-royale setting, this is the game for you. In closing, NARAKA: Bladepoint is one of the best free-to-play PlayStation Plus games.

1. Overwatch 2Free Online Multiplayer Games

Rounding out our list of the best free-to-play games on PlayStation Plus, we have Overwatch 2Overwatch 2 is a game that serves as a sequel to the highly-popular Overwatch. This automatically placed a ton of expectations on the game, and the decision to make the game free-to-play only heightened everyone's anticipation for it. While the game did have some behind-the-scenes development issues regarding its PvE content, PvE offerings have come to the game. And while they may be a far cry from what initially was promised, they are certainly serviceable.

The bread and butter of Overwatch 2 is its multiplayer gameplay. Players are placed into teams of five, with one tank per team, and duke it out on artful, beautifully designed maps. The character pool in the game is also vast and has a varied amount of playstyles represented therein. This is great for players old and new, as there are always new tips and tricks to learn or more characters to play around with. In short, Overwatch 2 is not only one of the best free-to-play PlayStation Plus games but a great game in its own right.

Battle Royale games are popular and fun. One game that many players are excited about is Off The Grid (OTG). This game promises to make the Battle Royale experience even better with its unique story and cool features. So, if you're looking for the best games like Off The Grid, you're in the right place. This article will tell you about other games that offer the same exciting experience as OTG.

OTG has created quite a buzz due to the features it offers that resonate with many players. These include a vast map for exploration, a system allowing players to create and trade items, and a choice-driven narrative. Several other Battle Royale games share these enticing features as well. So, without further ado, let's begin with number 5.

5. PlayerUnknown's Battlegrounds (PUBG)

YouTube Video

PlayerUnknown's Battlegrounds, or PUBG, is a game that's quite like Off The Grid. In this game, you're dropped onto an island with 99 other players. Your goal? Be the last one standing. The game feels very real, from the details in the environment to the way things move and behave. This realism makes the game feel intense, a lot like the action-packed and futuristic world of OTG.

In PUBG, making smart decisions is crucial. You need to find weapons and supplies quickly, while also keeping safe from other players. The game gets even more exciting as the safe area gets smaller over time, forcing players to get closer together. This part of the game, where you need to think on your feet and adapt, is what makes PUBG similar to OTG. The large map in PUBG is great for exploring, and it gives players many ways to strategize. It's these features that make PUBG one of the best Battle Royale games like Off The Grid.

4. Call of Duty: Modern Warfare

YouTube Video

Next up, we have Call of Duty: Modern Warfare. It's a game that has a lot in common with Off The Grid, especially when it comes to player-versus-player combat. Just like in OTG, players need to think on their feet and work together to win in Modern Warfare. It's not just about shooting – it's about survival, which is what makes Battle Royale games like OTG so exciting. This game also has many different modes where players can test their skills. These modes make you explore and use your surroundings to beat your opponents, which is a big part of what makes OTG unique. In other words, you need to be smart and make the most of what you've got.

Furthermore, the maps in Modern Warfare change a lot, too, which keeps the game fresh and interesting – just like the ever-evolving world of OTG. Also, one big thing that Modern Warfare and OTG have in common is customization. In short, Modern Warfare offers a similar experience to Off The Grid and shows us how strategy, player choice, and great multiplayer action can make a Battle Royale game truly special.

3. Realm Royale Reforged

YouTube Video

Realm Royale Reforged is a fun and interesting Battle Royale game. It's not just about surviving but also about using your wits and special abilities. When you play, you can pick a class that has special skills. One of the cool parts of this game is the crafting system. You can gather shards when you defeat enemies or find chests. Then, you can use these shards at different places called forges to make strong weapons, and abilities, and even bring back teammates who have been defeated.

The game also has computer-controlled enemies that drop useful items when they're beaten. This makes the game more exciting and encourages players to explore. Plus, the game keeps adding new content and characters, which makes it always fun to play. Because of these great features, Realm Royale Reforged is one of the best Battle Royale games like Off The Grid.

2. Fortnite

YouTube Video

Fortnite is a popular game where players fight each other in a mode called Battle Royale. The game stands out because it mixes action and strategy. Players can build structures like walls and ramps using materials they find. This is a bit like Off The Grid (OTG), where players must make strategic choices to survive. The game's world changes a lot. Each season, new features and places are added to the map. This keeps the game fun and fresh. This is similar to OTG's idea of a game world that changes and grows over time.

Additionally, one more exciting aspect of the game is the special events that happen in the game. These events add to the story and often bring big changes to the game world. Players experience these events together, which makes them feel like part of a big community. Overall, it is one of the best Battle Royale games you can't miss.

1. Apex Legends

YouTube Video

Apex Legends is a unique Battle Royale game that stands out because of its focus on characters, or “Legends”. These Legends have special abilities that change how the game is played. This makes the game more strategic, with players needing to work together as a team. The mix of action, teamwork, and skill is similar to Off The Grid's focus on letting players make choices that impact the game. Additionally, with every new season, more of the story is revealed through in-game events and cinematic trailers. This makes players feel more connected to their chosen Legends and gives a sense of purpose to the battles.

Lastly, Apex Legends includes player-vs-environment (PvE) elements in its gameplay. During special events and quests, players can fight computer-controlled enemies and complete missions. This adds another layer to the usual player-vs-player (PvP) Battle Royale mode. With its unique crafting system, the game keeps changing and challenging players. So, this focus on both PvP and PvE along with the game's strategic gameplay makes Apex Legends one of the best Battle Royale games like Off The Grid.

Epic Games’ Fortnite is a household name now, with millions of players diving into the free-to-play battle royale games to show off their skills and personal style. The former is inevitable, especially in the epic showdown toward the end of the 100-player match that earns the winner the Victory Royale crown. The latter, though, has grown more interesting over the years, where instead of buying individual avatar skins, cosmetics, accessories, and weapons often at a higher price or unlocking each one in special challenges, you can get them as a pack or bundle at cheaper prices.

New Fortnite packs often release periodically, each with a themed set of costumes and weapons. Using Fortnite’s in-game currency, V-Bucks, you can pay for the pack that provides the best skins, gliders, pickaxes, back bling, and more. But choosing the best pack to show off your personal style isn’t always easy. Not when there are hundreds of Fortnite packs up for grabs. Fortunately, we have gone dumpster diving for you and curated the best Fortnite packs in 2023 so far.

5. Dark Reflections

Dark Reflections

Hop on over to the dark side with the Dark Reflections Pack. After a grueling wait, Dark Reflections finally came out, offering not one or two but three absolutely awesome skins. These speak for you when you step into a crowd, with a clear theme that spells darkness about to take over. The best part about Dark Reflections is that the Dark Wild Card, Dark Red Knight, and Dark Jonesy outfits, along with their related cosmetics, can’t be found elsewhere. So only players who can afford the pack can have it and, in turn, enjoy a high level of rarity.

Furthermore, buying individual items separately quickly racks up the price. Matter-of-factly, buying just two of the six items in the pack costs more than double its price. So, definitely worth saving your bucks. Plus, you’d be getting a Dark Axe harvesting tool, too.

Items Included:

  • Wild Card Outfit
  • Dark Red Knight Outfit
  • Dark Shield Back Bling
  • Wild Cube Back Bling
  • Dark Jonesy Outfit
  • Dark Axe Pickaxe

4. Summer Legends Pack

Summer Legends Pack

The best part about the Summer Legends Pack is its perfect fit with the times and, of course, the Unpeely outfit. For a long time, “peely” has been a go-to original for Fortnite lovers. It looks exactly how you’d imagine: a human banana with beady eyes, two legs, and two hands. He often switches between skins, sometimes wearing a suit as an Agent or swappable facial expressions. On the other hand, the Summer Legends Pack introduces “Unpeely,” who doesn’t look that much different from Peely. He’s essentially an unpeeled banana, wearing summer shorts, sunglasses, and a hat.

Unfortunately, only Unpeely’s skin gives off a summer vibe. The other skins may as well fit into another pack or two. Because of its origins and summer vibe, Unpeely is the most popular skin in the pack. In any case, it’s summer, a summer pack sounds perfect. So, grab your sunscreen, tropical drink, and soak in the sun in the perfect Tropical Punch Zoey, Unpeely, or Summer Fable outfits.

Items Included:

  • Tropical Punch Zoey Outfit
  • Sour Swirl Back Bling
  • Unpeely Outfit
  • Banana Cabana Back Bling
  • Summer Fable Outfit
  • Trapper Pack Back Bling

3. Lava Legends Pack

There’s no denying how cool the outfits in the Lava Legends Pack look. They definitely bring the heat with fiery red against shades of black. They even have intricate details on the skins that further make them pop, like the trickles of ash dripping on them or the fire Lavawing can breathe out of his mouth. Lavawing Glider actually takes home the most popular skin overall. I mean, if you can breathe fire, all eyes will definitely gravitate toward you.

The other skins on offer aren’t too stale, like the Molten Battle Hound Outfit, which has an edge compared to other skins. In fact, when it first came out, Battle Hound had an exceptional rarity stat that further makes it special to acquire within the pack. The outfits and all related cosmetics look unique, intricately detailed, and definitely worth considering stepping into battle.

Items Included:

  • Molten Valkyrie Outfit
  • Molten Valkyrie Wings Back Bling
  • Lavawing Glider
  • Molten Battle Hound Outfit
  • Molten Crested Cape Back Bling

2. Magma Masters Pack

Alternatively, to the Lava Legends Pack, you can get the Magma Masters Pack instead. Just looking at the visuals on the pack gives off Ragnarok vibes, with glowing hot color and visual appeal. Stare on it for longer, and the visuals may appear animated. It’s definitely a show-stopper pack, whether you choose to wear the Molten Ragnarok, Roast Lord, or Incinerator Kuno outfit, that marries well with the cosmic wars of Fortnite. The related cosmetics in the pack don’t disappoint either, with a consistent fiery fun vibe perfect for making a statement.

Items Included:

  • Molten Ragnarok Outfit
  • Feathered Flames Back Bling
  • Roast Lord Outfit
  • Tire Fire Back Bling
  • Incinerator Kuno Outfit
  • Flaming Dual Kama Back Bling

1. Anime Legends Pack

Best Fortnite Packs in 2023

The Anime Legends Pack offers the most number of items, with three epic outfits, three back blings, and three pick axes. It also has a Lil’ Kart Emote to wrap up the whopping ten-item package and tie it up nicely with a bow. Some outfits are fan favorites, including antihero Midas, reskinned to perfection. Midas has a golden motorcycle jacket now, which you’re free to pair with a red skull helmet from the Golden Crash Back Bling.

Fashionista Rox also makes a comeback with a black hoodie that you can pair with a fancy laser sword and bring along a friendly red robot from the Whirlberry Back Bling. Using the Lil’ Kart emote, you can show off your avatar driving skills, although the emote is actually a tiny go-kart. Unlike the other packs, the Golden Gear Midas Outfit can give off the golden touch, which is a special power that allows you to wrap any equipped weapon you touch with a special gold.

Items Included:

  • Golden Gear Midas Outfit
  • Golden Crash Back Bling
  • 24 Karat Katana Pickaxe
  • Ricochet Rox Outfit
  • Whirlberry Back Bling
  • Blazeberry Blade Pickaxe
  • Ready Penny Outfit
  • Little Black Bag Back Bling
  • Glimmering Edge Pickaxe
  • Lil' Kart Emote
So, what’s your take? Do you agree with our best Fortnite packs in 2023? Are there more Fortnite packs we should know about? Let us know over on our socials here.

Veteran games designer Cliff Bleszinski (Gears of War, Unreal, Fortnite) and acclaimed comics writer Alex de Campi (Smoke, No Mercy, Dracula, Motherf**ker!) have shed light on an all-new joint venture — a dog-centric comic book series known as Scrapper, which is set to hit the shelves on July 19, 2023.

“Blade Runner-style action mixes with big emotions as stray dog Scrapper and his buddy Tank fight for justice against the totalitarian forces of a post-apocalyptic domed city,” the blurb opens. “But when the fight comes to his home Scrapper will face losing what's most important to him-and gain a terrifying truth in the process.”

As we’re only a stone’s throw away from seeing its debut on Image Comics, we thought we’d reach out to Cliff and Alex to get some additional context on the upcoming issue. Just what is Scrapper, and how will it look to add flair to the established medium in 2023? Here’s what we found out..

Credit: Image Comics. 07/19/23

Let’s talk about Scrapper. What is it, and how did you formulate the concept of bringing man’s best friend to a superhero-centric dystopian world?

Cliff: Long story short I stumbled into becoming a Broadway producer which required numerous trips up to New York City. I noticed up there that there are so many stray dogs, cats, and other creatures that, well, life finds a way. My wife got us a Pomsky (that’s mostly Husky) and she inspired me as my muse.

Alex: I’ve always had rescue dogs and lived in big cities, so when Cliff approached me with the idea, I really felt like Scrapper was a project I could bring a lot of passion to. Urban animals? Sign me tf up! Plus, Cliff had already thought through the idea so well, there was an incredibly solid base to build a story on.

Without giving away one too many spoilers, what can we expect from Scrapper? The blurb mentions that our hero will be faced with a “terrifying truth” — care to shed a little extra light on this?

Cliff: Obvious spoiler bait, yo! So yeah not answering that but you’ll be surprised at the extent of his abilities…

Alex: Scrapper is a thriller, so I don’t want to say too much, but let’s just say he’s not what he thinks he is, and the city’s corruption goes a lot deeper than he could ever imagine.

We can’t help but notice the post-apocalyptic city that Scrapper is set in. Cliff, would you say that either Gears of War or Unreal has had any influence on this choice of design?

Cliff: We’re not really saying if the city is pre-apocalypse or post-apocalypse. One of the biggest mysteries we’ve yet to unfurl is what’s outside the domed city? Stay tuned…

Credit: Image Comics. 07/19/23

Alex, you’ve had plenty of experience in working on visual novels and comic books. What has it been like working on Scrapper?

Alex: It’s been so much fun. Cliff’s a really nice guy and super smart about storytelling. He’s also got really strong opinions, which is good in a collaborative partner, because if you’re deciding on artists, for example, he’s able to say “yes” or “no” definitively and rapidly. But there’s no ego in it – it’s all about what’s best for the story, and that’s honestly the best thing to have in a collaborative partner. We both just want to make the best book possible. Cliff’s experience running huge AAA games definitely carries over really well into the collaborative task of making a comic, because he’s also understanding about the setbacks that occur, like something takes longer than expected, or needs a revision.

Has the collaboration process been as smooth as you would’ve liked, or have there been any complications?

Cliff: Alex is tough but fair and smart as a whip and I respect the hell out of her. I hope this project takes off so we could do future collaborations. Over the course of my game development career I learned that finding the right people to work with is so essential and luckily I was introduced to Alex.

Alex: The only issue we had – and it’s a good problem, a high-class problem – is that a game is infinitely expandable in all directions, whereas a comic book miniseries is 20-24 pages per issue, six issues. So occasionally Cliff would be like, “oh, have we got any place to put this cool detail / aspect?” and usually we could fit it in, but occasionally I just had to say no for pacing reasons.

It goes without saying that drafting a series of comic books is a whole other ball game to designing a video game. Cliff, how have you found this transition?

Cliff: Learning this business has been fascinating and, honestly, I’m still learning it. That said, there is some overlap in regards to narrative structure, framing, and pacing as well as art direction and dialogue. It’s certainly been an adventure!

And is this new venture likely to affect your involvement in the gaming industry? Cliff, are you planning on making a return to video games, or has Scrapper opened a new doorway for you?

Cliff: My years of experience in video games and love of pop culture I’d like to believe have helped me make Scrapper perfect to adapt to a video game, TV series, or toy line. I don’t see myself making video games full time again any time soon, but you never know…

Scrapper

Credit: Image Comics. 07/19/23

It’s probably a little too early to ask, but with Scrapper out in the open, will the two of you be working together to create anything else in the future?

Cliff: I have another IP that my wife and I collaborated on that’s sitting in Alex’s in-box. She’s just quite in demand these days so hopefully we can sync up and see about working on it together. Be warned – it’s really dark.

Alex: There are plans! I am the roadblock. As well as Scrapper, I have two graphic novels for Image that just went to print and another for Dark Horse that I’m lettering, and then once we’re a bit further along on Scrapper I will have the brain space to actually engage with the plans.

Before you go, is there anything else you’d like to add for our readers?

Cliff: I just wanted to thank Alex for being my sherpa in this space. I really, truly believe in this project because it comes from the heart. I’m thrilled to have another creative outlet after quite some time and, hey, who doesn’t love dogs?

Alex: So the comic book single issue ordering process is the most user-unfriendly process in the whole world. Cliff and I put together a little site here that will help you find comic shops that stock Scrapper and can mail them to you, in the UK, Ireland, US, or Canada. We’ll continute to update it as more issues come out, with links to order the limited-edition store variant covers, and we’ll add a link to buy the issues digitally after July 19, once the first issue is out. There’s also going to be a sweet hardback collected edition out in March, and that you can just buy at a bookstore like a normal person.

Oh, and if you’re going to San Diego Comic-Con, Cliff and I are doing signings and panels on Friday evening and Saturday midafternoon! Come say hi, get a sticker and a signed bookplate.

Thanks for your time, guys. We look forward to catching the first issue of Scrapper later this month!

Scrapper will be heading to the storefronts on July 19, 2023. You can get your hands on the first issue for just $3.99 over on the Imagine Comics site here. Alternatively, you can get a copy via the official Scrapper website. For everything else, be sure to check in with Cliff and Alex over on their socials.

So, what’s the verdict? Will you be picking up an issue of Scrapper when it hits the shelves? Let us know your thoughts over on our socials here.

In case you’ve yet to knuckle in on the world of Esports and its ever-evolving cash cow of high-paying tournaments, perhaps now’s the time to register an interest. It’d make sense, what with the competitive nature of the sport boasting prize pools of hundreds of thousands, and often millions of dollars, give or take. It’s the gift that keeps on giving, and if there’s one thing we’ve come to learn in 2023, it’s that the Esports scene is only just beginning to find its footing — and that there’s plenty more to come before the year’s out.

Like a lot of forms of entertainment, the world of Esports has its carousel of best-selling titles that raise the benchmark for others to live up to. For the sake of keeping it compressed and to the point, though, we’ve gone ahead and drafted the five that have made the biggest impact on the gaming front in the past six months or so. Curious to know more? Here are the Esports stakeholders that you should know about in 2023.

5. Call of Duty: Warzone 2.0

Beginner's Guide to Warzone

Call of Duty has every right to be hailed as one of the best first-person shooter franchises on the planet, more so in 2023, what with the battle royale Warzone 2.0 entry being a free-to-play game and all. Conceptually, it’s no different from its predecessor, though it does bring a new mode to the table — a loot-and-extract gig known as DMZ. Outside of that, the 2022 iteration brings all the action-packed components you’d come to expect from a traditional Call of Duty instalment — right down to the notorious Gulag.

As it stands, Call of Duty: Warzone 2.0 has four seasons under its belt, each of which have brought a variety of new maps, modes, weapons, and in-game features to the nexus. As far as its presence in the Esports community goes, the World Series of Warzone is where it’s at—an annual tournament that boasts millions in cash prizes. Is this likely to double in 2024? Absolutely. Is it the best Esports game on the current monopoly? Not by a long shot, although it does aim high.

4. Dota 2

Arguably one of the most competitive MOBA titles of its kind, Dota 2 fortifies its position as the all-seeing eye of Esports. It’s a little dated, sure, but the fact that it’s still able to host a huge network of tournaments on a year-round basis speaks volumes alone. Add the fact that the likes of the Majors boast prize pools in excess of $30 million, and you’ve got yourself one monster of an Esports division.

ln 2023, Dota 2 is more accessible than ever before, with hundreds of heroes to play from and a stepping stone progression system that’s “easy to learn, hard to master.” So, if you’ve the time to spare, then it’s definitely a kingdom worth checking into, if not for the first-hand experience, then for the staggeringly high prize pools that each tournament dishes out.

3. Overwatch 2

Free Online Multiplayer Games

It was only natural that Blizzard went on to develop a follow-up chapter to its universally acclaimed MOBA shooter. Built with all-new modes, maps, and weapons in mind, Overwatch 2 went down a real treat with those who longed to scratch that competitive itch. Also, the fact that it launched as a free-to-play game only made it that much more appealing to a wider audience. Just what Blizzard had intended, no doubt.

While Overwatch 2 continues to evolve and onboard new patches every two or three months, its Esports division, The Overwatch League, also moves to make itself known across the entire platform. And judging by how easy it is to pick up and play, we wouldn’t be that surprised to see the MOBA sport double in size before year’s end. As for what’s in store for the second chapter remains a mystery, though one thing is clear: Overwatch is here to stay, and fans couldn’t be more excited to see what’s on the horizon for its Esports counterpart in 2023.

2. Fortnite

Say what you want about Fortnite — Epic Games sure know how to draw in a crowd. And if it isn’t at one of its seasonal events, then it’s at one of the many, many Esports leagues that the creators host every year. Makes sense, what with some of its prize pools being anywhere in excess of a hundred thousand or more. Knowing this, and how the ever-evolving battle royale sensation attracts millions of players daily, it isn’t all that difficult to see why seasoned pros use it as a stepping stone to elevate their gaming careers.

Fortnite is the gift that keeps on giving, with new patches, events, weapons, and objectives being introduced to its world every week or so. There’s a lot to unpack with it, is what we’re saying, and if anyone is able to knuckle in on the plethora of content it has to offer, then there’s plenty of perks to be found, if not in a global tournament, then in a local match.

1. PUBG

PUBG is hands down the best and most influential Esports game in the world, with over 350 million users fleshing out its global roster and a whole catalog of high-paying tournaments under its belt. The fact that it’s available on consoles, PC, and mobile also makes it one of the easiest games to access, too. This is why so many high calibre teams flock to the arena to try their luck — if only to take a stab at the PUBG Global Championship, which assembles only the best of the best for a series of massive tournaments.

Before it was banned in India, PUBG held the record for being one of the most sought-after video games on the planet. Not a whole lot has changed since then, to be fair, with newcomers still looking to gain a foothold on the leaderboards for a shot at taking home prize pools that go as far as a couple of million. So, while PUBG being the best in the business is debatable, the general consensus is that it is a household choice for serious gamers, and definitely for those looking to cash out on some seriously hefty payouts.

So, what’s your take? Will you be tuning in to catch any of the above Esports tournaments in 2023? Let us know your thoughts over on our socials here.

PvP games have a way of bringing out the competitiveness of players. This makes these types of games immensely more enjoyable. Knowing that you are outwitting or outplaying another player is an extremely satisfying feeling. It is partially due to this fact, that these games have so much replayability and charm to them. If you are someone who enjoys PvP games on PlayStation, then please enjoy our picks for the 5 Best PvP Games on PlayStation 5.

5. Tom Clancy's Rainbow Six SiegeOperation Solar Raid

We begin today by starting off our list of the best PvP games on PlayStation 5, with Tom Clancy's Rainbow Six Siege. This is a game that hopes to blend together the tactical shooter genre, with eh hero shooter genre, in a brave new way. Players are pitted against one another in five-man teams and are responsible for completing varied objectives. Oftentimes these objectives are things such as rescuing a hostage or defusing a bomb. Within the game, there is also a hero system that players have to learn the ins and outs of when they play.

The time to kill in the game is incredibly fast and requires players to be extremely careful in order to protect themselves. The game has quite a realistic damage model in that if players are shot in the head, they die. This means that each individual movement and life matters a lot more than in other PvP games that feature respawns. All in all, this is a fantastic game for players who want a slower more tactical approach to their games. It is for these reasons we consider Tom Clancy's Rainbow Six Siege one of the best PvP games on PlayStation 5.

4. Apex Legends

Switching things up quite a bit, we have what can be described as a beautiful blend of hero shooters and battle royales. Apex Legends is a game that achieved massive popularity. This was accomplished through its stellar gameplay, fun characters, and free-to-play model. This makes it so that the barrier to entry for the game is low, and practically anyone can pick it up and learn how to play. This is wonderful as it is really an all-encompassing experience for anyone who enjoys PvP games on PlayStation.

Additionally, the game features many game modes that greatly alter how the game is played. A variety of weapons are also in the game, each with its own advantages and disadvantages for the player. Including a mode other than Battle Royale is also great. Because it allows players to choose what experience suits them the most. So, to sum it up, Apex Legends is a smooth and intuitive FPS game in which players can work together in order to succeed. For its smooth-responsive gameplay and wonderful blend of hero shooter elements, Apex Legends is great.

3. Fortnite

Keeping somewhat in the same vein here, we have Fortnite. Much like another entry on our list, Fortnite began as a Battle Royale title. However, where the games differ is in what they have managed to branch out toward. Fortnite is a game that has branched out immensely and is able to be adapted into almost any gaming situation. This can be seen in the absolutely monolithic amount of player-made content for the game. While the core of the game may be PvP-focused, there are many more experiences on offer here.

This is great, as it gives the player a plethora of options to choose from. One of the most popular things about the game initially was its building mechanics. However, over time there has been a No-Build iteration of the game created. This makes it so the game is much more gunplay focused and less about building structures for defense. This is great and allows a new way to experience the game. Altogether, Fortnite has not only become one of the biggest cultural icons in recent memory but one of the best PvP games on PlayStation 5 as well.

2. Overwatch 2

For our next entry, we have a game that should come as no surprise. Overwatch was a game that completely dominated the landscape when it was released. So, when the time for its inevitable sequel rolled around, all eyes were on developers Activision Blizzard to show what was next. The decisions that were made regarding the game include things such as shrinking the team size down to five players. This 5v5 format allowed for team fights in the game to be more focused, and less about soaking up more damage from your opponent.

This placed a greater emphasis on individual player skill as a byproduct, which is great. This means that the game now has a much more individual skill-based play that players can engage with. This encourages players to become more proficient with the characters that they choose to use. While it may not have the fervor and hype around it that its predecessor did. The gameplay experience on offer in Overwatch 2 is still one of the best PvP games you can play on PlayStation 5.

1. Call of Duty: Modern Warfare IIBest Weapons in Call of Duty: Modern Warfare II

Now, for our final entry on our list of the best PvP games on PlayStation 5, we have Call of Duty: Modern Warfare II. The shoes that this game had to fill were immense. The reason for this was multi-layered as well. First, the game served as a follow-up to the immensely popular Call of Duty: Modern Warfare (2018). Secondly, the game also held the moniker of Modern Warfare II, which for many Call of Duty faithful set expectations extremely high considering the sheer love for Call of Duty: Modern Warfare 2 from 2009.

The game, like its predecessor takes a more grounded approach to gunplay as well as gameplay. This can be seen in how the movement mechanics in the game were implemented. The weapons all feel punchy and responsive, and the maps have a higher sense of graphical fidelity than ever before. This makes it so that this game is one of the best Call of Duty entries in recent memory. And considering the franchise drops games annually, this is saying quite a lot. To close, Call of Duty: Modern Warfare II is one of the best PvP games PlayStation owners can play today.

So, what's your take on our picks for the 5 Best PvP Games on PlayStation 5? What are some of your favorites? Let us know over on our socials here or down in the comments below.

With every new Fortnite chapter and season comes a fresh set of unvaulted weapons. Bringing some of our favorite weapons from previous seasons back into rotation. At the same time, a handful of weapons get vaulted, which means we won't see them for some time. Regardless, the meta has shifted this season. So, read on to find out what the best Fortnite weapons are in Chapter 4 Season 3.

8. Tactical Pistol

best fortnite weapons

We know many players may not consider the standard Tactical Pistol one of the best Fortnite weapons this season, or any season for that matter, but it does have a strong case in Chapter 4 Season 3. Instead of being single-fire, it's fully automatic. What's more, it has a 2x headshot multiplier. As a result, if you're running low on options, it's never a terrible idea to have it in your loadout. Because it has your back this season more than ever before.

7. Drum Shotgun

best fortnite weapons

If you'd rather have the assurance of more shots in your shotgun at the expense of less damage, the drum shotgun is the way to go. It's one of the unvaulted weapons for Chapter 4 Season 3, and many players that enjoy spamming shots in quick succession will have this shotgun in their arsenal. Although it may not have the same damage as the Havoc Pump Shotgun, it has 12 bullets in its drum mag. Allowing you to switch back and forth to your shotgun without having to reload it each time.

6. MK Alpha Assault Rifle

best fortnite weapons

The MK Alpha Assualt Rifle is one of the new weapons added to Fortnite Chapter 4 Season 3. Fancier than most assault rifles we see in the game, the MK comes with a red dot and a foregrip to reduce recoil. Because of its long-range precision and damage, we believe it is one of the best weapons in Fortnite. However, if you're going to run it, we recommend picking up a solid SMG since the MK won't be your best friend in close quarters like other assault rifles that are reliable at both long and short ranges.

5. Combat SMG

Speaking of needing an SMG to run alongside the MK Alpha assault rifle, our pick is the Combat SMG. It's a fan-favorite SMG that has been unvaulted for this season, so you can expect to see it in a lot of players' loadouts. The main reason is that it's a great all-around pick. It deals good damage, has a low bullet spread, and very controllable recoil. As a result, we regard it as one of Fortnite's most well-rounded weapons, capable of fitting in with any weapon setup.

4. Flapjack Rifle

best fortnite weapons

That Flapjack rifle is another new weapon introduced in Fortnite Chapter 4 Season 3. It's Epic's latest take on a LMG sub-machine gun and we won't lie, it's extremely fun to use. Its 45-magazine size makes it exceedingly fun to just spray at close and mid-range. As a result, it can also be used to knock down structures or blow up cars. Overall, pick up the Flapjack rifle if you want to be a pest who is continually harassing enemies.

Although we consider the Flapjack rifle one of Fortnites best weapons this season, we'd be lying if we said it didn't have its flaws. The first flaw is its reload speed, which is painfully slow. Secondly, it is practically useless at long ranges, where you will be lucky to connect on a couple of shots. As a result, you have to be a bit choosy when using the Flapjack rifle since its glory is dependent on the situation you use it in.

3. Heavy Sniper Rifle

There's a reason the Heavy Sniper Rifle isn't in Fortnite competitive playlists; it's highly versatile and, as a result, a tad overpowered. Despite its limited magazine size and slow fire rate, the Heavy Sniper continues to hit for massive amounts of damage. So, as long as you can hit your shots, it'll be your best friend. Furthermore, it is an excellent choice to break and push through builds, as well as land a finishing blow on a vehicle. Time and time again, the Heavy Sniper remains one of the best weapons in Fortnite.

2. Havoc Pump Shotgun

Most players found their groove with the Havoc Pump Shotgun last season. That's why we're not shocked it's back this season because Epic would most likely have a riot on its hands if it wasn't.

Nonetheless, the Havoc Pump Shotgun is one of the best weapons in Fortnite owing to its massive damage output. It excels exclusively at close range and consequently requires you to hit your shots or your toast. However, when you're hitting your shots, you'll be walking through other players as if they didn't exist.

1. Havoc Suppressed Assualt Rifle

best fortnite weapons

In the number one spot of the best weapons in Fortnite Chapter 4 Season 3, we have the Havoc Suprresed assault rifle. Returning again this season like its shotgun counterpart, the Havoc Suppressed assault rifle has you covered at long, mid, and close range. As a result, it allows you to get very versatile with your loadout, making more room for utility and heals.

There really is no downfall to using this weapon. It's got great damage output, the recoil is manageable, and there's even a suppressor to make it sound cool; not that it doe's anything in terms of performance. Nonetheless, if you get a chance to add a good variant of this rifle to your loadout, we don't see another weapon you'd pass it up for.

So, what's your take? Do you agree with our picks? Are there other weapons you think are best in Fortnite Chapter 4 Season 3? Let us know in the comments below or over on our socials here!

Epic Games announced the arrival of Fortnite update 24.40, which introduces a highly anticipated new feature called Ranked Play. This new mode will completely replace the existing Arena mode. It offers players a chance to compete in a more competitive environment. With the introduction of Fortnite Ranked Mode, players will now have the option to activate the “Ranked” switch in the game's main menu. This will enable matchmaking with players of similar ranks, adding a whole new level of competition to Fortnite. Players will assume a starting rank based on their recent performance in matches upon playing their first match in Ranked.

Ranked Play features a total of eight distinct ranks, including Bronze, Silver, Gold, Platinum, Diamond, Elite, Champion, and Unreal. The highest rank, Unreal, will grant players access to a dedicated leaderboard for Unreal players. Unreal players will no longer be able to rank down for the remainder of the season.

Both Zero Build and Battle Royale will feature the Ranked Mode. There will be an inaugural season called the Ranked Season Zero. The Zero Build can support the Duos mode, while Battle Royale offers Solo, Duos, and Squads modes for ranked play. Each mode will have its own separate ranking system, enabling players to compete in Battle Royale and Zero Build independently.

More Changes Coming to Fortnite with the Update v24.40

In addition to Ranked Play, Epic Games is making significant gameplay changes in the upcoming update. Harvesting rates and material caps will be adjusted, providing a new dynamic to resource gathering and management. Material caps will be decreased from 999 to 500, encouraging players to be more strategic with their resources. Harvesting rates will also see a slight increase, making it easier to collect materials for building.

The update will also fix several bugs in the game that players have reported. Some notable fixes include eliminating the shiny or glossy appearance of outfits and improving the interaction between back blings and the Clone Trooper outfit. It will also ensure players properly enter build mode after using the ODM Gear.

The update is currently live and players can now play the Ranked mode. Players can also switch the mode on and off as they wish.

What's your take? What do you think about Fortnite’s new Ranked mode? Let us know on our socials here or in the comments below.

Despite the fact that consoles such as the Xbox Series X/S and PS5 have some of the most popular FPS games, the Nintendo Switch has a sizable number of FPS games worth investigating. Over time, the Nintendo Switch's repertoire has expanded beyond the Zelda franchise. There are now horror, comedy, racing, and FPS games on there as well, with some of them being well worth the time spent on them. Today, we're going through all of the FPS games available on Nintendo Switch and compiling a list of the best FPS games on Nintendo Switch in May 2023 that you should check out. Stay tuned.

5. Apex Legends

YouTube Video

Battle royales have been picking up speed ever since PUBG and Fortnite broke the internet. So, if these types of games are your cup of tea, you may want to check out Apex Legends on Nintendo Switch. Apex Legends is a free-to-play online multiplayer battle royale game. Players go into Apex Legends in squads of three. Each player will choose from an ever-growing roster of characters called Legends.

Every Legend has a unique ability and charming personality. The gunplay and FPS gameplay are unmatched by other shooters, delivering a constantly refreshing adrenaline rush. You don’t have to subject yourself to the blood splatters. Simply turn them off to enjoy a more kid-friendly version.

While most of Apex Legends’ core recipe remains similar to other battle royales, from the usual scramble for weapons to the ever-shrinking ring and fight to the death, Apex Legends manages to achieve a uniqueness that makes it quite fantastic throughout your playthrough. Apex Legends is so massive that the game has an average of 20 million monthly players.

4. Overwatch 2

YouTube Video

Alternatively, you may opt for the PvP experience Overwatch 2 offers, teaming up with friends and showcasing your shooting skills. Overwatch 2 is a team-based, multiplayer, FPS game that features cross-play, so users from other consoles can join in on the fun.

There are over 30 heroes to choose from. Each hero has unique abilities, including jumping across time or prowess with DJ skills. Players compete in up to 5v5 matches. The maps have an optimistic, futuristic feel, with a variety of 24 locations. Some are inspired by real-world places, like Antarctica.

Thanks to regular updates, Overwatch 2 constantly adds new heroes, maps, and game modes. The updates follow a seasonal schedule every nine weeks. Perhaps Overwatch 2’s most attractive quality is the variety of heroes you can choose from, along with distinct skins, voice lines, weapon charms, and more. It looks lavish with vibrant colors and packs excellent synergy into gameplay.

3. Paladins: Champions of the Realm

YouTube Video

Paladins: Champions of the Realm combines both weapons and elementary powers in battlefield brawls against other players online. Players compete as legendary champions of the realms against another team. Each team has up to five players. It’s brilliant how there are myriad ways to customize your chosen character while still standing out from the crowd. Each battle differs from the last and packs thrilling action. The visuals look crisp on the Nintendo Switch.

Paladins: Champions of the Realm is like Team Fortress 2 and Overwatch put together. It emphasizes teamwork via online voice chat, however, each player still has to deliver fast-paced, aggressive action, which, ultimately, is where the fun is.

2. Metroid Prime Remastered

YouTube Video

Lastly, check out Metroid Prime Remastered, released on February 8th, 2023, exclusively on Nintendo Switch. Players, once again, step into the shoes of Samus Aran on his adventures across the uncharted planet of Tallon IV. Metroid Prime was the fifth mainline entry in the Metroid series. It caused a huge stir in 2002 for spearheading the use of 3D computer graphics from an FPS perspective.

Although Metroid Prime was a banger for introducing FPS to the world, the title is spent now. However, if you’d like to reminisce via updated mechanics and gameplay, then feel free to check out Metroid Prime Remastered. The remaster is fantastic, so much so that it sits up there with the Dead Space and Resident Evil 4 remakes. Metroid Prime Remastered emulates a similar storyline, with players jumping into Samus Aran’s power suit to fight off the Chozo species.

Nothing much has changed, except for the visuals and mechanics. The atmospheric surroundings remain the same. Even the eternal Ridley is here. Now, players can experience the mother of FPS gaming via a much smoother, more impressive run on the Switch. If you want to go back in time, you’re free to switch to the original GameCube controls. However, the new twin-stick controls work flawlessly to cater to both newcomers and veterans alike.

1. Doom Eternal

YouTube Video

The Doom series has become a staple in the FPS genre. Doom Eternal, in particular, delivers the most outstanding experience so far. The game offers an epic single-player campaign where players fight demons across several dimensions so as to stop the destruction of humankind. You’re, essentially, the demon slayer, sworn to cause doom to all who choose to defy you.

Doom Eternal adds a fun twist, where players face off against two player-controlled demons. You’ll fight against other players across five rounds of intense FPS combat. The demon slayer equips himself with new weapons and abilities, including a flamethrower mounted to his shoulder and a retractable blade mounted on his wrist. Through the double-dash ability, you can push forward faster and stronger than ever.

Furthermore, you do earn rewards for spilling demon guts. It can be extra health from demon kills, armor, or ammo. Once you’re fully armed, you can then duke it out in the 2v1 multiplayer experience in a best-of-five round match with other demon slayers. Whoever wins the most rounds becomes the ultimate demon slayer. Ultimately, Doom Eternal curates a fantastic, relentless, and brutal experience that is exhilarating every step of the way.

Fortnite, the popular online game, is joining Olympic eSports, but in a slightly different way. Instead of being played as a battle royale, Fortnite has designed a custom map with shooting targets to reflect the sport's shooting competition.

Fortnite will be one of the games that will feature at the inaugural Olympic Esports Week. The event, organized by the International Olympic Committee, will take place in Singapore. The Fortnite Champion Series will send 12 players to Singapore to test their accuracy and compete for the gold medal on June 24th. The Fortnite tournament will require players to navigate the in-game environment as they compete, but it is unclear what this will look like in practice.

The Fortnite team has developed an Island called Creative Island. The developers specifically designed the island to reflect “sport shooting competition” for the Olympic Esports.  The island is specifically for the purpose of shooting targets, indicating that it is not a traditional battle royale game where the objective is to eliminate all other players. In this game, success is determined more by one's ability to accurately hit the targets than by being the only surviving player. Therefore, the ultimate winner is the person who can demonstrate the best aiming skills.

Other games included in the event are WBSC eBaseball: Power Pros for baseball, Chess.com for chess, Zwift for cycling, Just Dance for dancing, Gran Turismo 7 for motorsport, Virtual Regatta for sailing, Virtual Taekwondo for taekwondo, and Tennis Clash for tennis. The games will be held in Singapore's Suntec Centre but will be streamed globally on the official Olympics website and social channels.

Olympic Esports Games Dates

The Olympic Esports Games will take place in Singapore's Suntec Centre on June 24. However, the event will be streamed globally on the official Olympics website and social channels. Tickets for the event cost $7.50 per day or $20 for a three-day pass.

What’s your take? What do you think about Fortnite's appearance at the Olympic Esports event in Singapore? Let us know on our socials here or in the comments below.

FPS games, as a genre, does a great job of allowing players to ramp up the action. The first-person perspective also brings the player closer to the action than ever before. It is partially due to this immersive and visceral feeling that these games are so popular. Added to this is the often stellar gunplay present in these titles. Simply put, these games have a way of merely feeling great to play. So without further ado, here are our picks for the Best FPS Games on Xbox Series X|S (April 2023).

5. BioShock: The Collection

In terms of raw value, as well as narrative weight and solid gameplay mechanics. BioShock: The Collection is a great choice for FPS fans. At the same time, the game may lack the high-octane blood-rushing appeal of multiplayer offerings. However, its approach to FPS gameplay and abilities is quite unique. Players will be able to find themselves enthralled within the worlds of Rapture and Columbia. There is a reason as to why this series has held up to the test of time so well.

The gameplay elements in these titles are strong. But oftentimes, it is the story that truly grips you into these games. However, the experience that these games offer the players is one that players would be remiss if they missed out on. So if you haven't already, definitely give this game series a try. As you assuredly won't be disappointed with what you find. All in all, BioShock: The Collection is one of the most content-rich FPS games on the market, and you should definitely pick it up for the Xbox Series X|S if you haven't already.

4. Battlefield 4

Now for an entry that, much like our first entry, is a bit on the older side. Battlefield as a franchise, for some, has lost its footing and doesn't resemble games of the past in its current iteration. This is where Battlefield 4 comes in. While initially, upon release, the game was criticized for the number of bugs and lack of polish of the game, over time, this game grew into an FPS masterpiece. Everything from the weapons on offer to the gunplay and how it affects those weapons are top-notch.

Added to this is the beautiful fact that even if you aren't a huge fan of FPS gameplay, vehicles offer you another avenue for success in this game. Now that being said, the multiplayer is definitely the draw of this game, and while the campaign is serviceable, by most accounts, it isn't as good as the Battlefield 1 campaign. If you can overlook this fact, however, players can enjoy hours upon hours of extremely solid gameplay. So if you haven't booted up Battlefield 4 in quite some time, definitely do so, as it is one of the best FPS games on the Xbox Series X|S.

3. Doom Eternal

Our next entry is one that has a ton of pedigree to live up to. Doom Eternal is not only a sequel to 2018's popular Doom reboot but the holder of the Doom legacy. The mechanics in this game allow players to enjoy the most visceral and gory FPS gameplay on the market to date. This is wonderful. And also, this is bolstered by the game's RPG mechanics. A feature that is an inclusion many fans didn't even know they wanted. If you are looking for buttery smooth gameplay and a thumping and pulsating soundtrack, then this game is a must-have for any FPS fan.

If you are unfamiliar with the Doom series and have been waiting to jump in, then this is a great title to pick up. The gameplay is easy to understand yet hard to master. And it allows players to relieve some stress, slaughter some demons, and play with one of the best arsenals in gaming. Players will be able to blast away enemies for hours without ever getting bored. To close, this game is great and anyone who either enjoys the Doom franchise. Or they are simply fans of FPS games and should definitely pick this title up for the Xbox Series X|S.

2. Hell Let Loosebest FPS games

Switching things up considerably, we have an entry that, despite its FPS mechanics being quite different from other entries, is nonetheless fantastic. Hell Let Loose is a team-based FPS that allows players to engage themselves in massive multiplayer battles. These battles take place over expansive maps that have been created with the highest graphical fidelity possible. This means that the Xbox Series X|S will be put through its paces by this game. However, the game's optimization makes it so this game runs buttery smooth most of the time.

The FPS mechanics in the game lean heavily on realism, and if players are shot in the head, they are dead or downed. However, to keep this from being a completely grueling experience, players can bandage and revive one another. Players will have to listen to a chain of command, as well as be crack shots in order to survive intense game and gunplay, so if you are looking for an FPS experience that offers something quite different for the Xbox Series X|S. Then definitely give Hell Let Loose a try.

1. FortniteBest landing spots

Fortnite is a game that has overtaken the gaming sphere. It has done this not only through its accessible gameplay and presentation but also its extremely solid FPS mechanics. Added to this is the fact that players can essentially turn the game into whatever they want. This is given they have the creativity to do so. This has undoubtedly added to the game in terms of longevity. What started off as a battle royale has not only taken over the battle royale space but expanded into other FPS arenas.

This is wonderful to see and shows that the studio behind the game is committed to bringing its players whatever they wish. For players who are unfamiliar, this game will require players to have an impeccable aim, even at range. Of course, that is if they hope to outmaneuver and outlive their opponents. So if you haven't given this game a try, you definitely should, as it is one of the best FPS experiences on offer for the Xbox Series X|S.

So, what's your take on our picks for the Best FPS Games on Xbox Series X|S (April 2023)? Let us know over on our socials here or down in the comments below.

A high-quality game that is free-to-play is something you don't come across very frequently. That's because it sounds too good to be true. Fortunately, the Xbox Series X|S answers that plea by providing some of the best free-to-play games available right now in a variety of genres. And, thankfully, these titles aren't all that deceptive, forcing you to purchase DLC in order to have a satisfying experience. Having said that, they do offer in-game purchases. Regardless, you can get the entire experience without spending anything. So, read on to find out the best free-to-play games on Xbox Series X|S in March 2023.

5. The Sims 4

YouTube Video

The Sims 4 by Maxis and Electronic Arts is a life-sim that offers complete control over practically every element of your character's existence. This life simulation sandbox game is your personal “The Truman Show” and you are the director. Create a family, choose a career, and decide where to live. The world is your oyster in this game, and the greatest part is that it's free to play. With that, the main game contains enough content to keep you busy for a long time, however, you can purchase more content if you so desire.

Nonetheless, the freedom and customization offered in The Sims 4 are unrivaled. Create a community of Sims with rich backstories and interesting careers. Or control one sim and sculpt how their life plays out. Given the number of elements in the game, the interface is pretty outstanding and simple to use. Making your experience immersive and enjoyable all the way through. So, if you haven't tried The Sims 4, we highly recommend you do as it is undoubtedly one of the best free-to-play games for Xbox Series X|S.

4. Roblox

YouTube Video

Roblox grew its reputation by giving users a lot of creative flexibility. Essentially, Roblox is a sandbox game where you can build and create extremely detailed levels and game worlds. This has sprung a vibrant gaming community within Roblox. There are hundreds of game types to choose from, including FPS, cops and robbers, horror, and RPG stories, and that's just scratching the surface. Overall, it's resulted in Roblox becoming one of the most popular free-to-play online multiplayer games of all time.

But it doesn't stop there. Character customization is extensive. There is an outstanding community market where you can download infinite mods and DLC. Altogether it feels as if you have the ability to discover anything you can think of; if not, you can simply create it. Because of its limitless creative possibilities, Roblox easily earns its position as one of the best free-to-play games on Xbox Series X|S.

3. Fortnite

YouTube Video

Since its release in 2017, Fortnite has taken the world by storm in terms of popularity. That's why we highly doubt it needs an introduction as it follows the same premise as other battle royale games. However, where it stands out and the feature that's catapulted into the spotlight, is building. You can build and demolish structures at will, adding a completely new dimension of gameplay to the FPS battle-royale genre.

However, it's remained relevant as every chapter, the map is drastically changed. Furthermore, every chapter is accompanied by a number of seasons that keep the combat exciting with new utility, weapons, vehicles, and other items. This is largely one of the reasons Fortnite has been so successful and remains one of the best free-to-play games on the market.

2. Rocket League

YouTube Video

Rocket League is a high-octane soccer game played with cars. There's no other way to put it. The cars, however, have been modified so that you can jump, ride on the stadium walls, and propel yourself into the air. This makes the game's learning curve extremely difficult as you learn faster and more creative acrobatic ways to get the ball into the opponent's goal. It's what resulted in Rocket League establishing an ESL Pro league in which players and teams compete for thousands of dollars every year.

The game is certainly a one-of-a-kind experience that will give you a new appreciation for the Esports pros who make it look so effortless. Each game's a go-go-go chaotic roller coaster of blocking shots and scoring goals. Due to its ability to keep you on the edge of your seat at all times, Rocket League is rightfully deserving as one of the best free-to-play games on Xbox Series X|S.

1. Overwatch 2

YouTube Video

Though we didn't ask for it, or particularly needed it, Overwatch 2 has delivered a well-rounded sequel that, thankfully is free, or Blizzard would undoubtedly have a riot on their hands. The biggest change in the hero-shooters sequel is the switch from 6v6 to 5v5 teams. While many were skeptical, it actually brought the game to a more well-rounded state. As a result, Overwatch 2 remains the best free-to-play game you can get your hands on for the Xbox Series X|S.

Overwatch 2 features a roster of 36 heroes organized into three distinct classes: Tank, Damage, and Support. Each hero within these classes has unique abilities that define their playstyle. Furthermore, each hero has an ultimate that may be game-changing when utilized correctly. This combined with the many game modes, such as Control, Hybrid, Escort, Push, and custom games adds up to some pretty unique and tirelessly fun gameplay. All of which is at your disposal free of charge.

So, what's your take? Do you agree with our top five? Are there other free-to-play games on Xbox Series X|S that we should know about? Let us know in the comments below or over on our socials here!

It's always an exciting time when a new Fortnite season rolls out. There's a list of new locations to explore on the map, new gear and vehicles to play with, and a fresh-faced roster of weapons to test out. Aside from the new landing spots, Chapter 4 Season 2 made the biggest splash in the weapons category. In total, six weapons from the past season have been vaulted. Furthermore, four new weapons have been added to the arsenal. This is undoubtedly shaking up the meta, and it will continue to do so until the dust settles on Season 2. Nonetheless, let's see which ones are making a name for themselves as the best weapons in Chapter 4 Season 2 right out of the gate.

6. Heavy Sniper Rifle

Unvaulted in Chapter 4 Season 1, and sticking around in Season 2, is the Heavy Sniper. This iconic high-caliber sniper is as powerful as it is fun to use. Of course, the most notable feature is the sniper's ability to break down walls with a single shot. This brings a unique dynamic to gunfights by allowing you to break and push through an opponent's build. The only downfall is that it's bulky and is a single-shot rifle, as a result, it takes a long time to reload. So if you're not as confident in relying on one one shot and prefer a larger magazine, you're probably leaning toward our next entry to handle your ranged warfare.

5. Cobra DMR

In contrast to the Heavy Sniper, the Cobra DMR is a semi-automatic sniper that allows you to fire multiple shots in a row rather than just one. As a result, the Cobra DMR's 20-mag cartridge is ideal for players who prefer the security of a larger magazine. What makes this even better is that it has a headshot multiplier. So, when you're on a roll and hitting shots, the Cobra DMR is even more rewarding.

In either case, you can choose between the powerful and destructible Heavy Sniper or the more convenient Cobra DMR. Either is a good option, and both are the best sniper weapons in Fortnite Season 2 in our books.

4. Havoc Pump Shotgun

Best weapons

The Havoc Pump Shotgun is one of the new weapons introduced in Season 2, and it has quickly surpassed the other shotguns as the best this season. And we doubt the meta will change around it unless it is nerfed, which it very well could be. The Havoc Pump Shotgun has six shells and tags for 108 damage to the body and 170 to the head. It has a 0.75 fire rate and a reload time of less than a second. Overall, it's about as well-rounded as a shotgun can get. It is without a doubt one of the best weapons this season and should be in your lineup at all times.

3. Twin Mag SMG

Though the Havoc Pump Shotgun makes a compelling case for itself, we understand if shotguns aren't your thing. It can be extremely frustrating and takes away from the fun when you're not hitting your shots. That's why many players opt for the spray and pray power of SMGs. If that's you, you can't go wrong with the Twin Mag SMG.

The main attraction of this SMG is, of course, its dual mag, which allows for a quick reload. With this, it's often quicker to reload this weapon rather than switch to another. Its magazines, however, are quite small, holding only 20 bullets each. Nonetheless, it's one of the best weapons in Chapter 4 Season 2 for close-quarters combat and ideal for finishing off a “one-shot” enemy – assuming that's actually true.

2. Havoc Suppressed Assault Rifle

best weapons

Assault Rifles are a necessity in every battle royale. It's very rare we find ourselves running a kit without one. The “Assault Rifle,” which was the name for the Scar in Fortnite, has long been a fan favorite. Unfortunately, that, along with the burst assault rifle, were both vaulted in Chapter 4 Season 2. These were two of the best weapons which many players relied on. But with them gone, there's been a massive curveball thrown into the mix. Now taking the place of both weapons is the new Havoc Suppressed Assault Rifle.

While we don't often embrace change, it's pretty easy to get behind the Havoc Suppressed Assault Rifle. Fully automatic, suppressed, and fit with a 30-bullet magazine, this gun checks all the boxes. It fires six bullets per second and the recoil is pretty maintainable. Personally, we love the addition of this new assault rifle and consider it to be one of the best weapons in Fortnite Chapter 4 Season 2. Furthermore, we are confident that you will feel the same.

1. Kinetic Blade

best weapons

If you want to spice up your gameplay, the Kinetic Blade is the way to go. This brand-new melee weapon has knockback and dash attacks, allowing you to get creative when dealing with close combat. Aside from these features, when is a Katana ever not enjoyable to use? That's why if you have the opportunity to wield this blade, we highly recommend it.

Because it is so situational, it may not have a strong case for being one of the best weapons in Chapter 4 Season 2. However, we have to grant it style points. Furthermore, in close quarters, it can be more lethal than a shotgun or SMG, though that highly depends on how you use it. Nonetheless, master this weapon and you'll be opening up a whole new portal for your playstyle in Fortnite Chapter 4 Season 2.

So, what's your take? Do you agree with our top five? Are there other weapons you think are best in Fortnite Chapter 4 Season 2? Let us know in the comments below or over on our socials here!
