Arcane has received the Best Adaptation award at The Game Awards 2022.

Best Adaptation is a brand new category introduced into 2022's The Game Awards lineup. It focuses on tv shows and movies that are adaptations of video games, and evidently, this year was just calling for the award with what got released to our screens. We saw fantastic shows like Arcane, and the Cyberpunk: Edgerunners anime, both of which blew fans' expectations out of the water. The Cuphead Show!, Sonic The Hedgehog 2, and the Uncharted movie were also included as nominees for the award – though it was far-fetched for any of them to pass the two front runners.

That's because, in gamers' eyes, the discussion revolved solely around Arcane and Cyberpunk: Edgerunners. And the animated TV series Arcane and all its glory ended up receiving the Best Adaptation award. Arcane is based on the massively popular MOBA, League of Legends. The TV show is developed straight from the game's lore, and features iconic characters, like Jinx, Vi, and Ekko as protagonists of the TV series.

Arcane debuted its first season on Netflix on November 6 in 2021 and concluded the season in the first half of 2022. Since then, fans have been pushing for Arcane season 2, which has been confirmed for a 2023 release. But as of now, we're still awaiting an official date.

It's difficult to focus on your mini-map while fighting another champion and trying to win your lane, but if you want to die less and start capitalizing on other champion fights on the map, it's crucial to keep an eye on your mini-map. Assume your mid-lane has engaged in a fight and is winning, causing the opposing player to flee into the ravine. If you have a heads up on your mini-map, you can most likely cut off the enemy player and most likely come in to help capitalize on the kill.

One of the best Wild Rift tips for beginners is to buy and use Wards, as much as you possibly can. Wards are used to gain additional map vision and can even grant vision to areas that are obscured by the fog of war. Warding the bushes where the ravine connects to your lane is one of the most important wards if you're playing top, middle, or bottom lane. This is because the enemy jungler will usually gank from here. If you place a ward there and keep an eye on the mini-map, you'll have a few extra seconds to retreat to your turret and avoid the gank. As you might expect, champions with a level three rating are the most difficult to learn, with the toughest abilities to master.

Mukuro disguises herself as Junko and gets killed early on to help her sister escape being noticed. Junko masterminds the whole game from behind the scenes.

If you know anything about Yoko Taro, it's that he knows how to make a depressing game. Popola and Devola are video game sisters from the NieR series. The twin sisters appear in the first game as helpers to the town where Nier and his sister grew up. The two have different personalities, but they clearly both love to help the town. If you do a sidequest, you can even trigger an event where the pair will sing The Song of The Ancients together.

As fate would have it, though, the sisters are the antagonists of the game. They are androids who are supposed to take down the main protagonist. In NieR: Automata, a duo of the same androids appear again to assist the android camp and even help 9S fight. These aren't the same girls, though. They are just the same model of androids. Despite their role, these two are well-known and two of the most important characters in the series.

Final Fantasy 13 was all about a pair of gaming sisters. Lighting and Serah spend three games trying to be reunited, with several tragic twists and turns. Throughout the game, you see the sister's struggles to help not only save the world around them but put their family back together. Their story makes the series of games one of the saddest out there, as many consider the ending to be completely heartbreaking.

From pro-gamers to casual gamers, Twitch is a safe haven for anyone who enjoys video games. And, because there is so much variety, new games are constantly making their way into the top five most viewed for each month. Well, ironically, the top five most popular games on Twitch don't feature much variety, instead, they consist of a lot of competitive titles, we know all too well.

That's why it's not a big surprise that these competitive games are Twitch's most popular as of July 2022, since they consistently attract a large audience. However, there are most likely some solid reasons, such as a tournament or event that took place which caused these games to gain more popularity than usual. That's why we're going to find out exactly why these five games have secured their spot as the top five most popular games on Twitch.

5. Apex Legends

Coming in as the fifth most popular game on Twitch in the month of July is Apex Legends. Being one of the most popular battle royales that constantly see a high viewership, we're actually surprised that the game didn't poll higher for this month. Nonetheless, it made the top five, most notably because there's big news for the new Season 14: Hunted, which is set to premiere on August 9th. With it, everyone's ranks will be soft reset, which means it's back to grind time.

However, this time period, roughly a month to two weeks before the reset, is also a high time to grind, as players make a last-ditch effort to improve their rank. This is also a time when the dust has settled and the respective ranks feature equal competition, resulting in some of the game's best gameplay. As a result, there are usually many sponsored streams, streamer tournaments, and competitive tournaments for the season's best players. Apex Legends evidently grossed a whopping 14.8 million hours watched in July 2022, and with a few days left, those numbers are still rising.

4. Counter-Strike: Global Offensive

One of the longest-standing competitive FPS games to date, CS:GO, made its way into the fourth spot for the most popular Twitch games in July with good reasoning. There were a handful of tournaments that took place, but the most notable of all is the iconic Intel Extreme Masters (IEM). It's the most notable because the competition typically features a million-dollar prize pool and the world's best CS:GO teams. This was exactly the case for IEM XVII Cologne, which took place from July 5th to July 17th, 2022.

So, with every CS:GO fan marking the event on their calendars, it was shaping up to be a big event that would undoubtedly attract a large number of Twitch viewers. And with 16 of CS:GO's best teams battling in the group stage, with only four cracking the playoffs, there was a lot of riveting CS:GO action to watch. It all came down to a premiere showdown between Natus Vincere (NA' VI) and Faze Clan, which saw Faze Clan clinching the series final in an exciting fifth game. Overall, the popular event resulted in CS:GO ranking fourth on Twitch in July, with 19.7 million hours watched and counting.

3. Grand Theft Auto V

GTA V is the only non-competitive game ranking on our list for the most popular Twitch games of July 2022. Even nine years after the game's release, we're still pleased to see how popular it remains, but its viewership in July was undoubtedly influenced by one popular annual event. That being the Independence Day event, which celebrates July 4th, along with the rest of the states, however in GTA V Online.

With the event comes a limited time for players to capture Independence Day themed items for their vehicles, weapons, and wardrobes. During the time of this event, which this year took place between June 30 and July 6th, 2022, the streets of Los Santos are a little crazier than usual. With many players and streamers alike hopping online to join in on the Independence Day fun. In total, GTA V received 23.6 million hours of viewing time in July, with the event accounting for a sizable portion of that.

2. Valorant

Valorant is the biggest title competing in the same genre of FPS as CS:GO, but it hasn't quite surpassed CS:GO's overall popularity just yet. However, being the second most popular game on Twitch is a good indication that it is gaining traction over it's competition. Much like how CS:GO had a big event in July, so did Valorant with Masters: Copenhagen. Being one of the biggest stops on the Valorant Champions Tour 2022, it surely helped the game gain notoriety on Twitch in July 2022.

The Masters: Copenhagen took place from July 10th to the 24th, and featured a barrage of talent across the 12 qualifying teams. The final came down to a showdown between Paper Rex and FunPlus Phoenix, which saw over 200,000 viewers on Twitch and a sold-out stadium. Valorant's Masters: Copenhagen reached a peak of over 700,000 viewers across all streams, including Twitch, YouTube, and others. And a total of 24.3 million hours watched in the month of July, narrowly beating out GTA V.

Today, the standings remain motionless, meaning the developers have done little to abolish the harassment that plagues the lobbies. But tell us one soul who buys Call of Duty for its campaign mode. It's predominantly online, as it always has been, which is why it's all the more frustrating that nothing is being done to squeeze the severs of all its toxicity.

As it's played by some of the industry's biggest pro gamers, its frequent tournaments often boast ludicrously high prize pools. Sure enough, that's why the vast majority tune in: to see which team conquers the monopoly and claims the lion's share of the score. But playing it for yourself, on the other hand, is a different story, and not a kind-hearted one, either.

Of course, it's no secret that Dota 2 is an incredibly demanding game. This harsh learning curve, though, has led to some players using competitors as virtual punching bags in the heat of the moment. And if there's one thing Dota 2 isn't short on—it's moments. It's a playground flooded with a lot of amped up players, and it isn't very often you'll be greeted with praise and polite conversation.

Though, going by a report made a little while back, Valorant muted 400,000 players, and served up 40,000 bans. And that was just the statistics from a single month alone. Today, the developer continues to battle the brutal community by implementing automatic detection systems in each session. And it works, for the most part, anyway. Nevertheless, it is still considered a worldwide issue among gamers, giving Riot Games and its moderators one heck of a headache.

It's safe to say that you have to adore these games in order to be a professional at them. Because the players who are competing at them on the Esport level have probably already surpassed the 10,000 hours required for mastery. Yet they are still learning ways they can improve and re-master their game. That's because there are hundreds of variables at play when it comes to the five toughest Esports games of 2022. So let's investigate what precisely makes these games so difficult and demanding.

5. Rainbow Six Siege

By the looks of it, CS:GO has been dominating the FPS scene for the better of 12 years. However, there's another game lying in the midst of competitive FPS that demands much more from its players. That game is no other than Rainbow Six Siege. And while we will say both games require extreme amounts of skill when it comes to aiming, Rainbow Six Siege demands much more when it comes to strategy, map knowledge, and team tactics.

Being a close-quarters breach and clear, map knowledge in Siege is vital to a team's success. This is due to the fact that players must be completely aware of the layout of the room or space they are entering before breaching a door, window, or wall. As there quite literally is hundreds of angles they can be shot from. Even from under tables across the room, or from a pinky-sized hole in the wall. That's why players must spend hours on end studying the map and remembering crucial choke points. On top of their in-game training.

4. League of Legends

One of the most notable Esprot games of all time is League of Legends (LoL). The popular MOBA is consistently growing itself, which is most likely due to how adaptive and constantly changing the game is. By that, we mean, with its characters and items. Behind the button mashing and flurry of abilities that get cast in a LoL match, hundreds of different percentages, statistics, and factors are at play, all of which are working against one another. And if you want to be a professional LoL player at the Esports level, you must know how each of them works with and counters each other.

Now we wish we could say this was one broad scope that can be studied, however, it's much more particular than that. Players must know the science of each item, and in-game element, for each of their own characters, and all the others on the field. Players can constantly combine their abilities to deal more damage or anticipate when they won't be as effective. This also depends on the items players have, so you must be aware of what all players possess.  It's a constant game of back and forth strategy, on top of the wildly fast thinking, you must conjure at a moment's notice.

3. Super Smash Bros. Melee

Super Smash Bros is one of the most popular competitive games of all time. However, Super Smash Bros. Melee's release in 2001, a few years after the original game's release, was what really launched its entry into the world of competitive video games. It offered a much more challenging and unforgiving version of the game, that for some reason its players loved. However, if you know Smash players, they are all about the challenge.

To start off, there are hundreds of button combinations available just to perform the game's most elementary movements and attacks. Which, if you want to be successful you must know to a tee. Additionally, the timing of your attacks—even down to the tenth of a frame—is absolutely crucial. Just a fraction of a second off could see you getting eliminated. Now we are talking in fictitious slow-mo time, but in all reality, this must be realized in real-time. It's not as easy as done and requires hours upon hours of mastering each player and their skillset in the game.

2. Starcraft II

If you have the chance, watch a Starcraft II player play the game with a mouse and keyboard cam. Upon doing so, you'll quickly realize why Starcraft II is one of the toughest esports games. In the game, there are three different races to play, Protoss, Terrain, and Zerg. Each of which has its own special units and attacks. Players choose a race to play and are dropped into a 1v1 style map. From there must build their army from the ground up, in offense, defense, and upgrades.

This is done by giving a series of commands, so since you're in a race with your opponents, the timing and speed at which you do so is crucial. Because of this, players started using hotkeys, which function somewhat like keybind shortcuts for quick command delivery. Furthermore, the game has hundreds, if not thousands, of commands that you must memorize and execute quickly. We could go on and on about the other requirements that StarCraft II has in order to be good, but this is just one of the key factors that make the game so challenging.

1. Dota 2

There is a reason that the International, the most prestigious and lucrative Esports tournament in the world results from DOTA 2. That's because, its without a doubt, one of the toughest Esports games, and has respectfully held that standing amongst players and viewers for a long time. Being a MOBA, unlike LoL which sees champions set for certain lanes and roles, DOTA 2 on the other hand, opens up that choice to the player and their character.

Each character can be built in a variety of ways, play a multitude of roles, and consequently have a major impact on the game, even with the smallest of details. This opens up an extreme amount of strategy when it comes to team composition and team plays. It truly adds a new dimension to the game to take into account and a new level of difficulty. Because of this, mastering and learning each character, item, abilities, and how they stack and counter a much wider root than you would see in LoL.

Ninja and MrBeast, two of the biggest streaming stars will soon be seen going head to head in a League of Legends competition. Titled “Ultimate Crown”, the competition has a stunning $150k prize.

Earlier today, MrBeast took to Twitter to announce the match. The streamer tweeted, “Ninja has accepted my offer. $150,000 League of Legends best of 3 match, we’ll announce our teams soon”. The tweet also informs fans about the venue and date. The LoL tournament will take place on July 9th in Las Vegas.

Ninja, too, has taken to Twitter to announce the League of Legends duel. In his tweet, Ninja said, “ITS GAME TIME @MrBeast you don't stand a chance. See you in Vegas @crownchannel.

The two creators will head their teams in the ultimate battle and probably settle their beef there. Ninja and MrBeast will face each other at the HyperX Arena in Las Vegas. To watch them battle, fans can tune in to the match on Twitch. Here's the link to the Crown channel. The first event is scheduled for July 9th at 4 PM PT and might last for 3 hours.

Ninja Vs MrBeast Ultimate Crown: Team, Players, and Format

So far, we know that Ninja and MrBeast will be the captains of their respective teams. As MrBeast has tweeted, both the creators will unveil their teams soon. Considering the prize pool, we can expect some high-profile players to join the teams.

As per MrBeast's tweet, the competition will have a “best of 3” format. To take home the prize, a team will have to win two of three maps. As of now, it is unclear how the prize pool will be split.

During the Xbox and Bethesda showcase today, Riot made a rather large announcement. Riot Games is bringing their most notable PC and mobile games to Game Pass, with some special offers. Those games are League of Legends, League of Legends Wild Rift, Valorant, Legends of Runeterra, and Teamfight Tactics. These games may already be free, but the in-game content, such as the full roster of characters and cards isn't. Most of them require you to grind points or otherwise purchase new characters, but that's all about to change for Game Pass members.

With a Game Pass subscription, you now automatically unlock all the champions in League of Legends, LoL Wild Rift, and all the agents in Valorant. For Legends of Runeterra the Foundations Set is unlocked and in Teamfight Tactics, select Little Legends can be unlocked. Marc Merril, Riot's President of Games, who made the news, also mentioned there's more to come in the future.

Not only is this a huge grab for Game Pass but it's one of the biggest moves we've seen made by Riot. Since Riots games are free, their main source of income derives from in-game purchases. This is evidently why we've never seen a deal of this caliber for as long as these titles have been out.

A Huge Incentive for Game Pass Subscribers

This sheer monstrosity of this deal can most clearly be seen in League of Legends. The game has a total of 159 champions, however, you only start with the base 16, which are all free. To get new champions you either have to purchase them or grind for Riot Points (RP) or Blue Essence (BE), which is a rather long grind just to unlock a single champion. So by subscribing to Game Pass, you are automatically getting all of these champions at your disposal.

The feature isn't out yet, as the trailer noted the Riot Game Pass crossover will be “coming this winter”. That most likely indicates it will come in December 2022, or January 2023. The trailer also mentioned XP boost will come alongside this – As if the incentive wasn't high enough already.

Which probably has you asking yourself why it's not on the number one spot on our list. Even though the game takes the cake for player count, that's mainly because as complex as the game is, it's also not. LoL's success has always been that it's an easy MOBA to get into, that get's extremely addicting the more you play.

This isn't knocking the game by any means, as it will remain as one of the best MOBA games of 2022 and beyond. However, if you're going to dive into it, you can expect lots of rages and a rather toxic community that comes from its diehard fanbase. With that said, that doesn't take away anything from how the game plays, which is extremely engaging and competitive. Now, LoL has developed itself into a complete game, with hundreds of champions, tons of game modes, and a fairly challenging learning curve.

1. Dota 2

The original Defense of the Ancients (DOTA) was actually a spin-off MOBA for Warcraft III: Reign of Chaos. Since World of Warcraft was the most played game in the world at the time, it's no surprise tons of its player base gave the game a shot. Well, the apple doesn't fall far from the tree, because Dota 2 isn't just the best MOBA game of 2022, it's also the highest-paid Esport game in the world. This year the Dota 2 Championships, which is known as The International is sporting a whopping $40 million dollar prize pool.

That's far more than any other MOBA game on this list and another reason why Dota 2 is the best MOBA game of 2022. And while the list of reasons why Dota 2 is the best MOBA is long, one of the main pillars is its advanced gameplay. The sheer amount of ways the game and its characters can be played and utilized with one another is barely even fathomable. So due to how tough the game is to get into, it makes sense that it doesn't amass the same player count as League of Legends.
