Capcom Announces a Digital Showcase Event in July
Capcom has announced that it will hold its own digital showcase later this month.
Capcom is the latest publisher to announce that it will have its own digital showcase. We have seen such events from other publishers and developers, such as the recent Sony State of Play and the Summer Game Fest.
Capcom will hold a 35 minutes showcase that will be live on Capcom's Twitch and YouTube accounts. The showcase will feature news and in depth updates on “previously announced Capcom titles.”
The publisher is keeping expectations in check as we will not expect any surprise game announcements. However, there's still a lot Capcom has revealed that it can talk about in greater depth, such as the “reimagined” Resident Evil 4 remake and Street Fighter 6.
Introducing the #CapcomShowcase, a new livestreamed digital event bringing you the latest #Capcom game information. Tune in on June 13, 3pm PT for around 35 minutes of news and in-depth updates on previously announced Capcom titles.https://t.co/fcLu2YjbYs pic.twitter.com/XHZu7iKJzz

What to Expect From the Capcom's Showcase?
While the publisher did not reveal any titles, we can make a few assumptions based on Capcom's upcoming release schedule. There is Resident Evil Re: Verse, Capcom's multiplayer spin-off that has been delayed significantly due to poor beta performance. We also hope to get more details about Monster Hunter Rise: Sunbreak, which will be released on June 30. Monster Hunter Rise was a financial and critical success last year, which means more information about the game might be forthcoming. Fans can also expect more details on the planned PlayStation VR2 edition of Resi Village.
Around this time of the year, developers and publishers put a hold on launching games to show off what they are working on and releasing soon. Sony staged its most recent State of Play event last week, and Summer Game Fest begins on Thursday. The collaborative showcase from Bethesda and Xbox will take place on Sunday, June 12, with an extended show in the following days.
Capcom has now stated that it will be presenting its own event to participate in the presentation festivities. The event will take place on June 13 at 3 pm PT.
