The Marvel franchise is the gift that keeps on giving. From cinema to gaming, there's plenty in store for Marvel fans. In line with this tradition, Second Dinner has unveiled an innovative and action-packed collectible card game showcasing the most iconic characters from the Marvel Universe. Diving into this new game will feel like coming home for those familiar with Card Guardians or Hearthstone.

In every card collector or battler game, the key to success lies in crafting a remarkable deck. While some games might have challenging deck-building mechanics, Marvel simplifies the process, making it accessible to all. Still, it can be quite a challenge to grasp the essentials of building a formidable deck. Fret not, as we've got your back.

Whether you're a seasoned expert or a fresh-faced newcomer to card battles, get ready to uncover the Best decks in Marvel Snap (2023).

5. Zoo

marvel snap zoo deck card

This deck primarily holds 1-Cost cards and centers on the legendary comic book hero, Ka-Zar, also known as Kevin Plunder. Players can spread domination over the three locations with this deck using cheap cards. In most cases, this play confuses your opponent since they become unsure which area to play.

While this is a grand strategy to outcompete your opponent, getting most 1-Cost cards is challenging. Mainly because the Collection comes with only a handful of them, but fret not; you can still get the most out of the game with a Zoo Deck.

A formidable Pool 3 Zoo deck must feature the likes of Dracula, Ka-Zar, The Infinaut, Zero, Ant-Man, Sunspot, Iceman, and Squirrel Girl. To achieve optimal results, complement these cards with the inclusion of Cosmo, Lizard, and Armor.

However, beware of the lurking threat of Killmonger when wielding a Zoo Deck, as this card excels at obliterating 1-cost cards in play. You can counter this menace by strategically placing Armor in one location and stacking higher-cost cards in the other, rendering Killmonger's attack strategy less effective. This deck is ideal for novice learners to grasp what each card and their combos are capable of unleashing.

Here's the Zoo deck list:

1-cost: Zero, Ant-Man, Squirrel Girl. Sunspot, Iceman

2-cost: Lizard, Armor

3-cost: Cosmo

4-cost: Ka-Zar, Dracula

5-cost: Red Skull

6-cost: The Infinaut

4. Sera

Sera Monkey or Sera Miracle cards are extremely powerful. Almost as powerful as the Destroyer deck, which calls for you to know all your options. This deck is comparable to Bounce, although it doesn't come close to its absolute power. Nevertheless, you have solid prospects for Shang Chi, Enchantress, and Killmonger.

Sera grants you the power to unleash top-tier combos by reducing all your card costs by 1. This deck can give you victory over two or more locations in the right hands. However, you need to be creative in your thinking. For this reason, this deck is ideal for seasoned veterans or, if you're willing to put in work, learn the ropes of the game.

Here's a breakdown of the Sera Control deck:

1-cost: Kitty Pryde, Nova

2-cost: Angela, Scarlet Witch, Invisible Woman, Mysterio

3-cost: Bishop, Hit-Monkey, Killmonger

4-cost: Shang-Chi, Enchantress

5-cost: Sera

3. Discard

Discard deck

With the launch of M.O.D.O.K, Discard is proving to be a formidable choice that is reasonably consistent. This deck has a simple premise to it; discard the right card. In this case, we advise you to use Apocalypse as often as possible.

You simply can't go wrong with this deck unless you discard the wrong card. To avoid this risk, you can include America Chavez. Nebula is a crucial card in this deck; however, if you miss out on it, you can swap it with Sunspot. You can also swap Storm for Swordmaster. However, pairing Storm with Dracula works well.

Here's the deck list:

1-cost: Nebula

2-cost: Morbius, Wolverine, Swarm, Colleen Wing

3-cost: Storm, Lady Sif

4-cost: Dracula, Hell Cow

5-cost: M.O.D.O.K.

6-cost: Apocalypse, America Chavez

2. Zabu 4-cost

Another deck that you can't miss out on is Zabu. It is simply one of the best decks in Marvel Snap for its Ongoing ability. With this, you can reduce the cost of 4-cost cards by two. Moreover, you can also combine the deck with plenty of potent 4-cost cards.

Zabu is a powerful card, which, when combined with the likes of Shang-Chi, Shuri, and Moon Girl, you get enough power to oust your competitor. While some may believe that Stature decks don't make the cut, it depends on your game's strategy. If you find that the deck needs to be more formidable, you can replace Moon Girl, Lizard, Iron Lad, or Stegron.

Moreover, you can include various combos such as Absorbing Man and Shuri or Darkhawk and Black Widow.

Here's the deck list:

1-cost: Nebula, Korg

2-cost: Zabu, Jeff

3-cost: Polaris

4-cost: Darkhawk, Shang-Chi, Enchantress, Miles Morales, Rock Slide

5-cost: Stature, Black Bolt

1. Kitty Bounce

Kitty Bounce

Unbeknownst to most, low-cost cards can also unleash a major win. Kitty Pryde is a 1/0, placing the card in the low-cost category. But this card will keep low cards bouncing back to your deck. When Kitty Pryde returns to hand, the card gains a +2 power. When you combine these cards with The Hood, Falcon, Hit-Monkey, or Best, you can conquer all locations in 6 turns or fewer.

Furthermore, the introduction of Kitty Pryde has had a notable impact on the Dino archetype. The card enhances its strength significantly by creating a formidable combination with The Collector.

So, witness the mesmerizing dance of low-cost mastery as Kitty Pryde and her loyal companions strategically weave through the game, reclaiming their cards and reshaping the battlefield to their advantage

Here's the deck list:

1-cost: Kitty Pryde, The Hood,

2-cost: Angela, Mysterio, Jeff, The Collector

3-cost: Bishop, Pit-monkey, Beast

5-cost: Iron Man

6-cost: America Chavez

There are no words to describe how cool it is to shout “Oh, snap!” out loud. Even if it's just you and your phone in your living room, once you feel the rush building, there's no turning back. If you’d like to always stay ahead of the game, here are the five best Marvel Snap tips for beginners you should know.

5. Know When to Snap

Marvel Snap: 5 Best Tips for Beginners

Alright, we know how tempting it is to snap, but there’s a time and place for it. If you feel particularly confident that you will win the match, then go for it. Or you could be bluffing to play mind games.

Say, if your opponent doesn’t snap back immediately, it could give you an idea of how confident they are feeling in their chances of winning. Just remember that you can always retreat early to cut losses, if any, or snap again to double the wager.

4. Study Your Opponent

One thing you can always take advantage of is the strengths and weaknesses of your opponents. But you have to study their play first before making your move. There are tons of ways studying your opponent could work in your favor.

You could learn more about new cards you haven’t played with before. Or, you could have a seat and see how differently you could use the cards you already have in your deck. Overall, it’s a fast and easy way to learn new, exciting gameplay.

3. Keep Calm and Undo All

You know that feeling when you know you screwed up but feel helpless because you’ve already played your hand? Well, don’t panic. Just keep calm and undo. Marvel Snap offers an “undo all” option. Simply tap on the energy icon and then the “undo all actions” button to try again.

2. Shy Away from Random Play

Randomness can only take you so far. But to truly grab that win, you’ll need much more than that. You’ll have 12 cards in a deck, each unique from the other. Instead of randomly stacking cards, you’ll want to collect a mixture of hero cards that synergize well with your other cards. That means having a firm understanding of what each of your cards can do.

1. Locations Have Abilities Too

Marvel Snap: 5 Best Tips for Beginners

It’s not just cards that have unique abilities. Locations do too. This means that certain cards are only effective in specific locations. This completely changes the game, giving you an advantage in a given match based on the cards in your deck. So keep an eye out for new locations and consider how they might affect your gameplay.

You also don't want to overcommit to a location too soon. Because you need to secure two out of three locations to win, you'll want to play across all three locations on your first few turns, then boost the locations where you're already ahead on your last few turns.

So what’s your take? Do you agree with our five best tips for beginners in Marvel Snap? Let us know down in the comments or over on our socials here.

When you've just grabbed your copy of Marvel's Midnight Suns, a few handy tips to get you started wouldn't hurt. Even if you've already had a few runs, learning the hard way isn't an absolute must. If you’d like to start off at the top of your game, here are the five best Marvel's Midnight Suns tips for beginners you should know.

5. Making Friends with Everyone Pays Off

The friendship score keeps track of your interactions with individual heroes. The higher your friendship score, the more abilities, combos, and benefits you land. So even if you get tempted to make friends with your personal favorites, don’t. Try to make time and space for everyone, and it will pay off.

4. Explore the Abbey Grounds

YouTube Video

There’s so much to discover on the Abbey Grounds. That’s the home of the Midnight Suns. Often, you’ll get back to the Abbey in between missions. The grounds are massive, so it’ll definitely take more than a day to explore them, but whenever you have the time, go out and explore the areas therein.

You’ll find things like the forge, the yard, and the mirror table. If you exhaust the inside, go on to the outside of the Abbey. You’ll be surprised to find arcane chests containing valuable items like accessories and battle reinforcements, and even uncover mysteries that unlock more content.

3. Strategize Your Team

Marvel’s Midnight Suns is a game of strategy, which also means not every character works well together. Feel free to experiment and find characters whose abilities mesh well together and, as a result, deal the most damage against enemies.

Since you’ll have used all of the characters at some point, there’s no shortcut except to learn and maximize every card combination you have before any mission. It helps to read a mission’s objective and description before you dive in. Then, assemble the best team for that specific scenario.

You can also hover your mouse over an enemy to learn their weakness. And once you find your groove, just go with it.

2. Pet Charlie Daily

YouTube Video

Petting Charlie every day is hardly time-consuming. It’s a pretty easy thing to remember to do every day, especially because doing so helps Charlie grow stronger. Of course, there are a number of items on your to-do list that are easy to forget.

But petting Charlie will come in handy later in the game when you can summon her during battles to help you fight enemies. You might also want to pet Ebony the cat to gain arcane XP.

1. Research is Key

Marvels Midnight suns research

Research holds the key to gaining upgrades on abilities and unlocking moves. So even though it’s passive, it does come in handy. So each day, try to meet the research requirements that often involve finding artifacts during missions.

With each completed research requirement, you increase your research level and thus gain new upgrades, advantages in combat, and more.

So, what’s your take? Do you agree with our tips for beginners? Are there other tips for Marvel’s Midnight Suns you think we should know about? Let us know in the comments below or over on our socials here!

Marvel recently launched Midnight Suns, a tactical RPG game that features a grand roster of superheroes from the franchise's comic book series. Developed by Fixaris, the game has plenty in store, including a compelling storyline that builds on family and friendship. However, an element that is pretty easy to miss is the iconic MCU building blocks; the Easter Eggs.

Easter Eggs have always been an intricate addition to the Marvel Cinematic Universe. For fans of the franchise, the eggs seamlessly call for a chance to rewatch or replay the episode to unveil the camouflaged beauties. Well, these are not your typical easter bunny eggs. The eggs are references to characters, phrases, or places that exist in other Marvel series or books. It can also include a feature based on comic books and their creators.

So, now that you know what Easter eggs are, it is time to test how much of a Marvel fan you are. Let's explore the five best Easter eggs in Marvel's Midnight Suns.

5. The Sanctum Design

The Sanctum Santorum is home to Dr. Strange and also one of the three base locations for the Masters of the Mystic Arts. The edifice is under the protection of Stephen Strange and Wong and is located in Greenwich Village. The Sanctum's design in the comic series greatly varies from what we see in the movies. It has been featured in many Marvel movies, including Spiderman: No Way Home, Thor: Ragnarok, Avengers: Infinity War, and many more.

The distinct construction and architecture of the building retain their similarity in all the motion pictures. Similarly, in Midnight Sun, the Sanctum deviates from the comic illustrations and sticks to what is presented in the movies. This is one Easter egg you can't afford to miss in the game. The design choice corroborates with the previous versions, and you can't help but think of it as Dr. Strange's home.

4. Casting of Spells and Post Credit Scenes

Best Easter Eggs in Marvel's Midnight Suns

An MCU game won't be complete without a fine lineup of spells to vanquish enemies. In Midnight Suns, there's plenty of familiarity with how the spells are cast and their names. For instance, Dr. Strange's orb of magic, which presents as he's casting a spell, has a distinct orange and yellow effect on screen. Similarly, his movie character is portrayed as having an orb of the same color palette, including the physical symbols as witnessed in the MCU.

Moreover, the names of the spells bear plenty of similarities. You might hear of the Astral Meditation, Winds of Watoomb, Blessing Of The Vishanti, and the Crimson Band of Cyttorak. These names pay tribute to the enchantments mentioned in the MCU.

Additionally, Midnight Suns live up to the MCU legacy of featuring a hype-building post-credits sequence. The post-credits are an ideal way of hinting at a sequel by giving continuation to the narrative. Unlike other sequences that introduce new characters, the game's final scene brings back a familiar character. Throughout the game, Doom's name is mentioned and a book is presented bearing his name as the author, Dr. Doom. In the post-credit scene, after the final defeat of Chthon, the Drakhorld is thwarted onto a pile of rubble. Soon after, Doom reaches for it with his gauntlet and lets out an evil laugh with one final word, “amateurs.”

3. Character Appearances and Costumes

Easter eggs in Marvel's Midnight Suns

Developers will always try to present their enthusiasts with a familiar character appearance based on the franchise. In Midnight Suns, Dr. Stephen Strange's face has the same construct as Benedict Cumberbatch's in his action/adventure movies. Similarly, Spiderman resembles an animated version of Tom Holland.

Character looks are an interesting Easter egg to look out for. More often than not, games will borrow concepts from notable actors to avoid audience confusion and keep up with the hero's legendary look. Be sure to look out for other characters bearing unique features from actors.

Character costumes and skin in Marvel video games nod to the appearance embraced in the movies rather than the comic series. This is highly evident in Midnight Suns, with Spider-Man having extra mystical arms. It is an adaptation of the Iron Spider alteration in films. Moreover, Tony Stark's Arc Reactor appears more visible as it is closer to the screen. You will also notice that Captain America's shield design has the same star and circles as seen in movies. Such nods are easy to spot, and hardcore fans won't have a problem tracing them with the first viewing.

2. The Return of Nico Minoru

One of the best Easter eggs in Marvel's Midnight Suns is Nico Minoru's return.  Nico Minoru is a playable character and the main protagonist of Midnight Suns. Also known as Sister Grimm, the formidable character returns, having been featured as a superhero in the Runaways comics.

Lyrica Okano voices her role in the game. In doing so, she reprises her role from Runaways. If you're a die-hard of the franchise, it will take two shakes of a lamb's tail to recognize the familiar voice.

1. Moon Knight

Best Easter Eggs in Marvel's Midnight Suns

After making a debut on the hit show Moon Knight on Disney+, the iconic superhero makes an appearance on Midnight Suns, which is pretty easy to miss. During the game's first hours, a battle ensues between Venom and the HYDRA in the streets of New York. If you look closely at the environment, you'll notice advertisements at the Mid-Manhattan Museum for a Khonshu exhibit. The advert describes Khonshu as the “moon god of ancient Egypt.”

Although Khonshu is an iconic god in Egyptian mythology, it is safe to assume that this is a nod to Moon Knight. More so since the game takes place in the Marvel Universe. This is an intriguing way for Midnight Suns to pay homage to the deity after his successful debut early this year.

And there you have it, our five best Easter eggs in Marvel's Midnight Suns. Which Easter egg will you be looking out for? Are there any others that need to grace our list? be sure to let us know down in the comments or over on our socials here.

Spider-Man: Miles Morales is now out on PC. The action-adventure game from Insomniac Games launched on PC today after a collaboration with Sony’s Nixxes Studio to customize the game for PC.

According to a statement from Nixxes on the PlayStation blog, the studio worked closely with Insomniac Games, Marvel Games, and PlayStation to make the project a success. Miles Morales's launch on PC comes just a few months after Marvel's Spider-Man Remastered was released on PC.

This PC release includes a ton of enhancements to make your PC experience feel brand new. The game will run well across various hardware, from portable devices to high-end gaming PCs equipped with the latest GPUs and ultra-wide monitors. The team at Nixxes has ensured that Spider-Man: Miles Morales is playable with a range of input options.

You can play the game with a controller of your choice. Spider-Man: Miles Morales for PC will also offer full DualSense support for anyone seeking to plug their controller into their PC. The team recommends a DualSense controller for PS5 with a wired USB connection for a complete DualSense controller experience. The game also supports various additional devices and countless remapping options with Steam Input.

In addition, the game is fully playable with a mouse and keyboard. The development team created a default control system that gives players the impression that they are in complete control. Therefore, you will be able to web-swing at high speeds or engage in spectacular battles against enemies using Miles' electric abilities.

As revealed earlier, the game has features like NVIDIA DLSS/DLAA, Ray-Traced reflections and shadows, and Ultra-Wide monitor support. Players can adjust lighting features, such as realistic shadows and ray-tracing modes. Additionally, the port supports triple monitor setups and ultra-wide aspect ratios. NVIDIA's different DLSS upscaling technologies will provide an even more stunning presentation of New York City in the winter.

The Disney & Marvel Games Showcase, easily one of the most anticipated events of the year, kicks off today. And, with the lineup of games we know are on the way, it's shaping up to be an intriguing one. That's why you don't want to miss out on new and exciting details for games we're eagerly waiting for, as well as those that have yet to be announced. So read on if you want to get all the details on the event, and how to watch it.

The Disney & Marvel Games Showcase kicks off today, September 9, at 1pm PT/4pm ET. Coverage of the event is being hosted live on Disney's official Youtube or Twitch. But for convenience's sake, we've also embedded the official Youtube stream below, to ensure you don't miss it.

YouTube Video

What to Expect From the Disney & Marvel Games Showcase

As far as publishers and developers go, we know the showcase will feature games from Disney & Pixar Games, Marvel Games, Lucasfilm Games, and 20th Century Games. And the titles we know will be getting some spotlight are Disney Dreamlight Valley, Marvel's Midnight Suns, and LEGO Star Wars: The Skywalker Saga. And although we don't know the event's exact run time, we hardly expect those three titles to occupy all the time.

Meaning, expect some new announcements, and with that, hopefully, big ones. One title that's been rumored is Amy Hennig's new Marvel Game that's been under work at Skydance New Media. Reportedly, the game is a World War Two setting, featuring Black Panther, Captain America, and evil Hydra forces. So if these reports are true, wish we believe and hope them to be, this is one title that could make its unveiling at the event.

Aside from that, we're really not sure what else could be coming our way. However, some already announced titles we're expecting more details and gameplay on are, Star Wars Jedi: Survivor, Marvel's Spider-Man 2, and Marvel's Wolverine. Release dates? Gameplay trailers? Whatever it is, we just hope it's enough to make for an exciting event.

So, what's your take? Are you excited for the Disney & Marvel Games Showcase? What games are you looking forward to? Let us know in the comments below or over on our socials here!

One of the best features of Fortnite is the sheer amount of variety there is when it comes to customizing your player. No other game has amassed as many collaborations for skins as Fortnite has, which now numbers in the thousands. In fact, the game currently holds approximately 1,300 different skins. Resulting in a lot of choices when it comes to choosing the skin you'll take into battle. However, as the motto implies, look good – play good. This is why we're looking at the 10 Best Fortnite Skins July currently offers because a lot has been added as of recent.

Notably, Chapter 3, Season 3 has been one of the best seasons for skins, with a handful of them making this list. This has also inspired us to look at some of our favorite skins from over the years, that are still up for grabs. But we'll be honest; choosing 10 amongst the thousands of options isn't exactly an easy process. So feel free to comment below and let us know what skins make up your top 10. However, without further adieu, here are our picks for the 10 best Fortnite skins as of July 2022.

10. Kawspeely

It goe's without saying that the originally Peely skin in Fortnite falls amongst the best of all time. Furthermore, all the variations of the skin after it have also been pretty appealing (We just couldn't resist the pun). However, the most recent variation, the Kawspeely skin, seems to be majority disliked by a lot of players. However, as a collecter of the Peely skins, and a fan of KAWS, we'd have to say it makes for a pretty cool collaboration. Like we said though, apparently an unpopular opinion.

9. Snap

The Snap skin is one of the newest ones that has landed alongside Chapter 3, Season 3. It's also one of the more creative and customizable skins we've seen added to the game. While most skins give you variations of the one skin, the Snap skin lets you completely customize your character's head, arms, legs, and torso with that of other skins. Making for some pretty outlandish skins, but we're all for it. Want a panda head with a robot arm, go for it.

8. Malik

The Malik skin in Fortnite comes as part of the Age of Kings set. And while the base skin is already pretty snazzy, its variations are even more appealing. Most notably, the Platinum Rift, Lapis Slurp, and Auric Blaze editions. They do cost around 20 Battle Stars, but we'd argue it's totally worth it because these skins present themselves and play beautifully in-game. Plus, everyone looks cooler rocking a cape.

7. Imperial Stormtrooper

The Fortnite and Star Wars collab has brought some of our favorite fictional characters from the Star Wars universe into the game. Now, we aren't arguing that we are on the side of the Imperial Order, however, getting to play as a Stormtrooper is something that most of us have always wanted to do. Plus with the E-11 Blaster in the game and lightsabers, it really makes it that much more enticing to throw on the all-white suit, even if it's for the Dark Side.

6. Itachi Uchiha

Fans were ecstatic to learn that Fortnite Naruto Rivals skins would be added to the game. Most likely because Naruto is unquestionably among the best anime series of all time, making the opportunity to play as your favorite characters in Fortnite an exciting experience. What no one expected was for the skins to be animated in-game. Evidently, this made them look pretty cool, but for us, it was Itachi Uchiha's animated skin that took our heart.

5. Green Goblin

In honor of Willem Dafoe coming back for his iconic role as Green Goblin, Fortnite thought they'd honor him with a skin. Most well-known as Spiderman's arch-nemesis, the Green Goblin's skin is depicted perfectly with the classic green and purple color combo. Then what tops it off is the fact that you also get his iconic glider to deploy into the game. This really makes you feel like you won't rest until you've destroyed all the Spider-Mans in your battle-royale session.

4. Madcap

It is a little un-ironic that the Madcap skin didn't get added into Fortnite when Reality Falls did, as there's obviously a correlation there. Nonetheless, Madcap is a skin you can grab in Fortnite right now and one of the best ones of July. That is if you like ninjas that take on the appearance of a glowing mushroom. Jokes aside, Madcap came together very well and the glowing fluorescent style to the skin really gives it a great aesthetic.

3. Spider-Man Zero

Best Fortnite Skins July

The Spider-Man Zero skin is based on the Zero War series of Marvel and Fortnite-inspired comics. The skin is now available for direct purchase from the item shop, whereas previously you had to obtain one of these comics to redeem a code. Nonetheless, if you're a fan of the web-slinging hero, then you'll definitely want to consider this skin. As it comes with the iconic Spider-Man stance and Spider-Drone in its bundle. Plus playing as Spider-Man with the Grapple Gun slotted, really makes his experience come to life in the battle royale.

2. Darth Vader

Best Fortnite Skins July

If you've seen the original Star Wars trilogy, you'll understand just how terrifying Darth Vader was. Well, thanks to Epic Games' excellent job of accurately replicating Darth Vader in Fortnite, he presents himself just as menacing in-game as he did on screen. If there's any reason to join or fight for the dark side of the force, this is understandably it. Just hope you don't run into an Obi-Wan Kenobi skin, as history often repeats itself.

1. Indiana Jones

Best Fortnite Skins July

Indiana Jones is the newest collaboration to come to Fortnite and it's easily coming in as one of the game's best skins of July. Something about the courageous and charming treasure hunter just makes venturing around the map, so much more adventurous and cinematic. Plus with a series of Indiana Jones-inspired challenges to unlock him, you can feel even more in his shoes. Really the only thing missing for this is his iconic bullwhip, which we're rather surprised didn't make it as his melee weapon.

So, what's your take? Do you agree with our top ten? Are there other Fortnite skins that you currently think are the best of July? Let us know in the comments below or over on our socials here!

Photography and gaming don't often go hand-in-hand, nor is it a connection we'd even fathom right off the bat. But then, why would we? After all, it's rare you'll even find a game that incorporates photography into its structure, meaning shutter-warriors, both new and old, are given the rough end of the stick, without a flagship to adhere to.

That being said, a fair few developers have gone out of their way to add photography into the mix—if only to serve as a mini-game between main story arcs. And on that note, we'll venture into the best of the best on the current market. So, if you love capturing a crystal clear image with a quality camera out in the real world, then you'll definitely enjoy doing the same in these five digitalized utopias.

5. Firewatch

YouTube Video

Granted, you won't get the same amount of flashy features with a disposable camera than you would with a DSLR. Though, if the setting is right and the mood is on point, then that shouldn't really matter. A picture is a picture, and as far as Firewatch goes, panoramic views pretty much come with the territory, meaning, disposable camera or DLSR—you're going to snag a great shot, period.

Firewatch has you filling the boots of Henry, a rogue husband with a hunger for a break out in the wild. After taking the posting as a firewatcher in an isolated nature reserve, you're left to your own devices. With nothing but a camera, a radio, and a map of the area, you're given three months to explore the fantastical region and make it your own. And with that, of course, comes plenty of golden opportunities to snap some magical photographs of the surrounding vistas.

4. 11:11 Memories Retold

YouTube Video

11:11 Memories Retold isn't the longest game by any means, but it does pack one heck of an emotional punch—right in the heartstrings. As two playable characters, one being a Canadian photographer, you must trudge through the trenches of World War I and document the spoils of war. Complimented by a unique art style and a bittersweet narrative, the indie game sprawls to life as a memorable experience that no photography student should turn a blind eye to.

Of course, when you're not playing as the photographer, you're running the line as a German engineer. Playing both sides of the field, you're made to learn of the trials and tribulations of each faction. The photography aspect is, well, just another way of hurling a few punches at you to make you feel bad. Still, it does a swell job of it, which gives us more the reason to sing its praises.

3. Marvel's Spider-Man

YouTube Video

Although you won't be able to bag a few hundred dollars from The Daily Bugle for pictures of Spider-Man, you will be able to grab a couple of sweet shots for your PlayStation home screen. Thanks to the intricate palette of features that Marvel's Spider-Man employs, you too can become a photographer. Perhaps not on the same page as Parker himself—but somewhere in the same library, for sure.

New York City and superheroes often go hand-in-hand, and for good reason. Whether it's a sky-high monument or a stone bridge in Central Park, nearly everything compliments the camera when in front of the lens. Having the ability to snap it all at the touch of a button bodes incredibly well with shutterbugs and, well, actual bugs.

2. Photography Simulator

YouTube Video

From the creators of House Flipper comes Photography Simulatoran indie title that puts a harsh focus on nature and all its outstanding beauty. For the first time ever, you'll be able to feel the rush for every time you release the shutter. Without having to leave your own home, you'll be able to transport yourself to worlds unknown, where every subject beckons to be canvased.

Although a little ways off yet, it is still worth keeping Photography Simulator in the scope. After all, it's not very often we get the privilege of seeing a video game of such elegance grace our screens. Therefore, if you're even the slightest bit interested in capturing breath-taking images out in the wild, then you'll definitely want to leave some room out for this masterclass in motion.

1. Life is Strange

YouTube Video

Forget photography for a moment. Or, at least forget the part that involves actually capturing an image. Instead, draw yourself back to that masterclass you took, and reminisce over all the lessons that explained the ins and outs of the subject. If that somehow manages to ignite a joyous twinge in your neck, then you'll probably find happiness elsewhere, with Life is Strange, perhaps.

Square Enix's episodic tale follows Max, a wannabe photography student with a supernatural power that lets her control time. Over the course of the whimsical journey, you'll have to escort her over the speed bumps as she irons out the kinks with her new otherworldly ability. And yes, that does involve teaching her how to become a better photography student. Because, you know—priorities.

So, what's your take? Do you agree with our top five? Are there any photography games we should know about? Let us know over on our socials here or down in the comments below.

Video game protagonists, like those in comic novels, are often viewed as superheroes. That's why it comes as a surprise that comic heroes aren't frequented in their own superhero video game series all that often. You think it would be a popular idea that spring's opportunities across the board, however, that just isn't the case. Over time, it has become clear that it is a very narrow niche for which superheroes function to generate a solid video game counterpart.

With all that said, there are some superheroes that fall into this niche but haven't been given the oppurtunity yet to be portrayed as an exciting video-game series. These are characters that occasionally fly beneath the radar of the public eye, yet whose biography is more in-depth and thorough than that of superheroes who live in the limelight. That's why we are bringing you the five superheroes that deserve their own video game series.

5. Moon Knight

Marvel's white-cloaked avenger has been popping up just about everywhere with the premiere of the Moon Knight TV series. With all the buzz and anticipation surrounding him, a video game series might be incredibly successful. Especially once you get to know Moon Knight's background, there are definitely some interesting plot lines at play that could work great in a video game series.

To start, Moon Knight or also known as Marc Spector was betrayed by his own brother. This separated him from his life of CIA work to spending his days doing mercenary work. Inevitably though this work is where he finds the Egyptian deity Khonshu's tomb and gain's the powers of the Moon Knight. This alone set's up a pretty good plot line that could kickstart the first act in the first game.

What's even more interesting is Moon Knight's struggle with multiple personalities and amoral inclinations lead's to an interesting thought. What if there was a Moon Knight RPG much like Mass Effect where you're in-game decisions affect the storyline. Or like in Bioshock when you played as “Big-daddy”, and you had to decide whether to save or harvest the little girls. Gamers admire these genres of games, and Moon Knight's backstory deserves to be made into a video game series of this type.

4. Deadshot

Since Deadshot's debut in DC's Suicide Squad, there has been a lot of buzz about the marksman shooter. Although he may be viewed as a supervillain, his backstory proves he holds superhero intentions making him an anti-villain. One that could be made into a very interesting superhero video game series.

Deadshot is based out of Gotham City, so that is already a solid start. Also, we know that he pursues his criminal career not just to provide his daughter Zoe with the life she deserves, but also to ensure that she does not end up with the same one as him. Now that's an emotional narrative, and if you're thinking Last of Us vibes, then you're right on the money. A video game series that is working with this plotline has all the best aspects of a storyline to work off of.

You have an emotive narrative of a dad who loves and cares for his daughter, check. You have a sympathetic backstory for how Deadshot came to be a mercenary, check. Combine that with the confines of wanting to do right by his daughter Zoe while being conflicted with his old life and eventually needing to change to be better, check and mate. Also, the game-play of expert marksmen shooting ridiculous guns, yes, please.

3. Rorschach

For those of you who don't know Rorschach, he is a superhero from DC's Watchmen. Rorschach's persona is depicted as a noir vigilante, and he makes for a really compelling and mysterious superhero.

The true meaning of his identity is the definition behind his name and mask. The superhero himself wears a mask that has moving and shifting inkblots that resembles an actual Rorschach test. For Rorschach, the psychological descriptions of his mask reveal his actual ethics and morals, in a very disturbing way nonetheless. Rorschach is led by moral absolutism and has no sympathy for punishing evil-doers. He is grungy and ghastly in his depiction, hinting toward a horror-type video game series for the character.

Much like L.A. Noir, Rorschach could play off of this same game style except solo and with a much darker atmosphere. One that tells the narrative of a vigilante with good intentions who pursues them via destructive and merciless justice. You could even tell the story through an interesting narrative like Rorschach's Journal, which document's all of his vigilante activity and give's an insight into his backstory.

2. Katana

Katana is a DC samurai warrior who looks just as cool as she sounds. Across the entire DC universe, no one knows their way around a sword better than Katana, but that's only credited to her devastating backstory. Katana once had a loving family, who were all brutally murdered by a jealous suitor. Katana then took revenge and possession of the Soultaker Sword, which holds the spirits of the lives it takes. That means it holds the souls of her family too. Now with the Soultaker Sword, Katana seeks justice for anyone who harm's the innocent.

You can't argue that is one compelling backstory and just to imagine Katana as a videogame series would work so well. The game could play off of a similar engine to Sekiro: Shadow's Die Twice, but as a story game with Katana's lore and definitely way less difficult. You can even begin to think about what different narrative aspects could emerge through her Soultaker Sword. This could provide flashbacks to her past, as well as the prior history of people the sword has murdered. The whole concept of Katana really doe's hold interesting lore and deserves to be developed into a really well-made superhero video game series.

1. Thor

Yes, Thor has been done before, but back in 2011 and not as a video game series. Plus, that game wasn't really up to standards, even for its time. Because Thor's tale is so extensive, he really is deserving of a well-executed video game series that reflects his story properly.

You can't help but turn to how well God of War produced Kratos as a mighty god-like character. However, Thor fall's under the exact same portrait with an equally interesting story. You have the love-hate relationship between him and Loki which could be played off of in a variety of ways, you have a long-lost evil sister that also can be thrown into the mix. Not to forget it takes place across the entire realm of Asgard, which makes for a captivating atmosphere already.

Out of all the superheroes on this list, a Thor video game series is the most deserved and overdue. But it must be done correctly, in a way that truly portrays him as a god and properly mirrors his dramatic past through a narrative series.

So what superhero do you feel deserves their own video game series? Let us know in the comments below or over on our socials here!

With the news of Marvel's new MMO currently in production, it appears to be a better time than ever to turn to its competitor DC Comics. Despite Marvel seeing greater success worldwide from its comic universe, when it comes to video games the two are neck and neck. You can't argue that both franchises have delivered notable games across a variety of genres. But in this list, we want to take a specific look at DC Comics' notable games.

What's so great about DC Comics' games is their amount of variety. There are MMOs, fighting games, Telltale games, and even RPGs based on the DC Universe. Not to mention well built at that. All these genres of DC Comic games are included, with no surprise at who number one is; hint, Gotham City. Enough hints and talking, it's time to dive into the five best games based on DC Comics.

5. DC Universe Online

To start this list, we are taking it way back to 2011 with DC Universe Online. For its time period, the superhero-themed MMORPG genre had not seen a game like DC Universe before. At least not a game that offered as much hero customization on a massive MMO scale. At the end of the day, that's all gamers wanted out of a hero game, and it delivered. With so many options available, you had complete control over designing your own superhero or villain.

I will admit, the game wasn't perfect and it definitely had its fair share of mechanical and server flaws. Furthermore, if you weren't playing with pals or partnering with someone online, the game was difficult to progress in. All this aside the game still delivered an enjoyable experience to its audience. It may not receive much attention these days, but it deserves to be recognized for its ability to produce a solid DC Comics game.

4. Lego Batman 2: DC Super Heroes

All editions of the Lego game series have been simple, pleasant, and amusing to play. Not just in this lit of DC Comic Games, but also one of the best Lego games is Lego Batman 2: DC Super Heroes. The game may not be pushing any new boundaries for video games but it doe's a lot of the little things right, and that doesn't go unnoticed. One of the little things that had a big impact was developing fun, humourous, and often loveable characters. I mean, most of the time, DC heroes and villains are portrayed as somewhat threatening, but not in Lego Batman 2. This gave the game its own identity within DC Comics that you don't normally see.

Another little detail that had a significant influence was the delivery of a well-built and bug-free game. Lego games are meant to be relaxing and engaging through exploration and collection. Lego Batman 2 accomplished this by creating a frantic Gotham City that was worth exploring. It was also fun to play as a variety of DC's primary heroes. All of these small details add up and contribute to a successful and well-put-together game.

3. The Wolf Among Us

What many people may not know, is that The Wolf Among Us is actually based on a DC Comic known as Fables. More specifically, Fables: The Wolf Among Us, which came out back in 2014 and ran until 2015. It's a good thing Telltale Games recognized its compelling narrative and gave it to us in the form of a fantastic video game story-telling style. It's one of the shorter series of Telltale Games, with only five episodes, but wow did they all deliver.

What really jelled was the game's dark and mysterious nature, with the functionality of decision-based dialogue that's typical in Telltale games. This really made you feel more invested in the storyline and like your decisions mattered. That's because it did. There were multiple ending's that you could inevitably end up with based on your decisions across the episodes. This really made your choices feel crucial, on what already is a very tension-filled story thus driving up the engagement factor.

2. Injustice: Gods Among Us

Fighting games are always fun to play on the sofa with friends, but having the opportunity to do it with your favorite DC heroes and villains simply adds to the fun. That's exactly where Injustice: Gods Among Us comes in. You have a whole list of DC characters to fight with, from, and even a handful of names from Suicide Squad. I can't forget to mention there are even some lesser-known characters that only true fans appreciate (Sorry Lobo). Regardless, all the characters were well depicted and designed with fighting abilities that matched their persona.

Whether you enjoy campaign mode in fighting games or not, Injustice: Gods Among Us did not disappoint on this front either. The story was thrilling, lucrative, and thick with backstory. This doesn't go unnoticed, especially when you're dealing with Comic fans whose whole appeal stems from the story. Plus, who doesn't want to laser beam someone with Superman, run over someone with Flash, or cast play around with the creativity of Green Lantern.

1. Batman: Arkham City

Okay, you guessed it, but it would have been criminal if I didn't label this as the best DC Comic game. The whole series brought you amazing games, but Arkham City without a doubt did it best. As soon as you step into this game you can tell that Rocksteady Studios brought the grungy and gothic appeal from Asylum to open-world Gotham. They also cranked up the rain dial that's for sure. Aside from that, no other game will make you feel like you've entered the DC Comics Universe like Arkham City.

The combat also stood out tremendously and made the game an extremely fun experience. You could literally feel the brute force of playing as Batman and with the addition of all the awesome features of his bat belt. Like the grapple, which admittedly most of us abused. Then to top it all off, you have a well-constructed story that play's on the original DC Comic narrative. You have a brilliantly constructed world, engaging characters, vigorous fighting, and an original story, there isn't much more you could ask for. Arkham City hit's all of these areas out of the park and takes the cake for the best DC Comic game.

Bonus

Well, it isn't out quite yet, but you already know it's going to be a contender with Arkham City so I have to mention it. The new Gotham Knights is set to release on October 25, 2022, and could easily slide into the first spot on this list. If you're a fan of DC Comic games, this is one to keep your eye on.

One of the biggest comic, movie, and overall franchises of all time, Marvel recently announced it's working on a new MMO RPG. In light of this, we thought it would be a good time to discuss what other potential Marvel video games we want to see in the future. I can start by saying, it's definitely not a small selection.

With how vast and expansive the Marvel Universe is, theoretically they could come out with a new game every year for the next millennium. I mean we saw how well the Spiderman games did so you could imagine that this would work with other prominent Marvel Characters. Which leaves the question up to debate of what Marvel games could show up in the future? There are a lot of possibilities, however, we narrowed it down to the top five Marvel games we want to see in 2022.

5. Punisher Story Game

You can't deny that a Punisher game would make for a great gothic and grueling atmospheric story. The dark presence of this character, who's often looked at as an anti-hero could really pull some interesting contrast in gameplay and story. We've seen it done well with other not-so vigilantes aka Spiderman, however, the Punisher could really take this concept to the extreme.

His backstory is perfect for building a character and narrative arch for a story and if I got to choose I would say 2K Games would be the perfect bid. Their experience working in dark fantasy with the Bioshock series showcases their ability to create a gruesome dystopic world.

The ironic part is that there was a Punisher game dated back to 2004 which received great feedback. So diving back into this concept with technology today isn't sounding like too bad of an idea.

4. Marvel Universe Battle Royale

I know your first thought was Fortnite, don't worry it was mine too. Since the game has been crossing over with the Marvel Universe it has shown us the potential of what a possible Marvel battle royale could bring. On a more serious note, if Marvel was able to work with a publisher to create a battle royale of this type I bet my top dollar it would be a hit.

For example, take the likes of Apex Legends where your character or Legend has different abilities that change the field of battle in-game, now apply that to the Marvel Universe. Players could create interesting team compositions of not just heroes but villains and fight other team compositions.

It surely would be interesting enough to see the potential abilities and ultimates that could come from this. Just imagine you're in the final circle and your teammate, Thor comes down with a huge lightning barrage.

3. Black Panther Story Game

Worldwide, Chadwick Boseman's single-standing depiction of Black Panther was a massive success. The character was relatively new to most Marvel fans until the debut movie, however, that is where this game can shine. In terms of back story and lore, the superhero really has a lot to play off of.

Thinking in terms of a story game, an open-world experience of Wakanda as Black Panther would surely provide mass appeal. Now that I think about it, it almost would be unjust to do. I mean who doesn't want to fight off enemies as Black Panther tearing around the Jungle with the power of Vibranium.

The world of Wakanda is so vast and mysterious it feels like Marvel has only begun to touch upon it. Don't even get me started on what else could be incorporated with the use of Vibranium in the game as well.

2. Loki RPG

Loki is a Marvel character that we grew to love over time. His ongoing dispute of whether he is good or bad is a perfect fit for his joker style and could work equally as well in an RPG. One where the player decides the outcome of his character through in-game decisions that have an effect on the storyline.

We've seen this done across games like CyberPunk and Fallout but no one has perfected it as much as the Mass Effect series. If you could incorporate that level of dialogue and narrative outcomes with a character like Loki, well it would work perfectly. To be frank, it almost works too well.

This could be done in numerous ways, from Loki betraying Thor, to even other Avengers. Or on the contrary, you decide not otherwise and end up fighting alongside them. There really are endless possibilities with how multiple storylines could play out, but regardless it needs to be done.

1. X-Men MMO RPG

It recently came to the headlines that Marvel is working with End Global 7 to make a new Marvel Universe MMO RPG. This got me thinking of future possibilities for this genre and one could involve the X-Men. One where you start out at Xavier's School for Gifted Youngsters and work to develop your own mutant.

For real this time, the possibilities for this game are endless, I mean we are talking about Mutants after all. There isn't a limit to what is a capable ability for a mutant as they are all unique. How you want to build your own mutant is up to you but inevitably you would get to progress through the school with other mutants.

It could even be a potential DLC component to the new Marvel Universe if the game sees the right amount of success to do so.

So what are your thoughts? Is there a game Marvel game idea you want to share? Let us know in the comments below or over on our socials here!

We've all seen our fair share of movies and envisioned how well they'd play out as video games. Unfortunately, we can't quite say the same for comic books which, in all honesty, receive the cold shoulder for whenever developers come knocking. But that's partly the reason why were drawn to the format—because it's an untapped market with endless quantities of money-making material. The fact only a small amount of it has flourished into a video game is beyond not only me—but most of us gamers.

It's 2022, and to say the market is still somewhat neglectful of the comic book realm would only be an understatement. The matter of the fact is, there's so much room for growth loitering around it, that it's a darn shame developers are stepping forth to utilize the assets while they're clearly present. Though, having said that, there are a number of quality games based on comic books out there. Of course, they're in somewhat short supply, and often hard to unearth—but they're quality tributes nonetheless. And as for the best of the best, well—here's how we'd slate it.

5. Telltale's The Walking Dead

YouTube Video

Robert Kirkman's The Walking Dead lives on in various formats; AMC's star show being just one of the major links in the chain. Its comic book origin story, however, is where the foundations for the franchise were first paved way back in 2003. Since then, numerous factions have stepped up to cash-in on the premise and further boost the undead sensation. Telltale, of course, being one of them.

True to the signature Telltale formula, The Walking Dead lays out a story-driven experience, and one that is tailored by the way you, the player, unravel key events. Every choice has a consequence—even more so when world is littered with flesh-eating corpses that long for an opportunity to divide your chances of survival.

4. Batman Arkham

YouTube Video

To be fair, DC Comics' poster child was born to rock the gaming industry. Ever since his debut appearance back in 1939's Detective Comics, Batman has been in line for an unfathomable amount of media-based merchandise. Video games, making up just a small pocket of entertainment from the franchise, just goes to bolster that fact.

That being said, it's the Arkham chapters that have made the biggest impact over on our corner of the world. Brewed with the classic beat 'em up recipe, each chapter has gone on to deliver timeless experiences, all of which encompass story-driven worlds and innovative combat systems. And so, while Bruce Wayne has seen his fair share of video games—only Arkham has gone deep enough to satisfy long-term fans of the Bat.

3. Marvel's Spider-Man

YouTube Video

Spider-Man is hands down one of Marvel's biggest—if not the biggest—superheroes of all time. The fact an incredibly charming set of video games have fallen from the same vein only amplifies our respect for the franchise even more. Though, to be fair, Marvel's Spider-Man (that being the PlayStation exlcuisve) was a turning point for the series, and one that would later define an entire era of action-adventure video games.

Marvel's Spider-Man was a thing of pure beauty. Built with a living, breathing open-world metropolis to explore, Insomniac Games ushered in a new generation of story-driven games, where the Big Apple played a key role in the tellings of Peter Parker's development. From the engrossing tale between civilians and superheroes, to the generous selection of side activities and collectibles—Marvel's Spider-Man brought the whole package, and then some.

2. Injustice

YouTube Video

It may not be on par with the likes of Tekken and Mortal Kombat, but Injustice is still among the best fighting series in the industry. Its expansive roster of familiar faces is what drives the double-barrell package into the spotlight, and it's understandable why so many comic book enthusiasts flock to it to get their fix.

As well as the impressive art style the series employs, Injustice also packs in a next-level palette of fighting styles and combos. Multiplayer-wise, it puts competition at the heart of the experience, and it meshes well with both fighting fans and comic book fanatics alike. All in all, it's one of the few staples on the market that we, as gamers, are proud to accommodate.

1. The Wolf Among Us

YouTube Video

Knowing who's who in Fabletown is common knowledge. Knowing where the very city stems from—perhaps not so much. Although being a key player on the comic book board for 20 years, many players fail to link Telltale's The Wolf Among Us with DC Comics' Fables. But the fact is, Telltale rustled up a prequel to the 150-book catalog way back in 2013.

Of course, Telltale has a reputation for procuring beloved franchises and cashing in on their reputation. The Wolf Among Us, being a hybrid of multiple universes and one celebrated comic book series, was just one of the many smart choices the team made. As for the rest, well, it's tough to stack anything else as high as Fabletown and its band of unruly storybook creatures. Call it what you will, but Telltale hit the nail on the head with The Wolf Among Us, and if there is any particular series that deserve a second chance—it's this one.

2021 was a year of variety and new boundaries for PS4 games. With an incredible amount of new titles, Indie games, and exclusives, there was a lot the console had to offer. With most AAA titles waiting for the release of the PS5 for its next big title, the doors were left wide open for other games to make a name for themselves.

If you fall under the majority of console gamers who couldn't get their hands on a PS5, it's okay. The PS4 isn't aging out and there are still lots of compatible games that you can explore. So don't look at trading in your PS4 just yet, as we have the best PS4 games of 2021 for you.

9. Hitman 3

Coming in first, we have Hitman III. The Hitman franchise has constantly delivered quality games to its franchise, and Hitman III might be the best of all. The game doesn't stray far from its last two versions and delivers the same style of gameplay that keeps gamers circling back to the game. What Hitman III does offer is a ton of variety in levels, and new ways to eliminate targets under the radar. Hitman III offers a ton of replayability and is sure to keep you entertained for hours.

8. Tales of Arise

Not many JRPGS or RPGs for that matter are tailored to gamers on console. So If you are a fan of JRPGs, then you don't want to miss out on Tales of Arise. The game delivers itself with a stimulating art style and story, making it one of the best JRPGs in a long time. The series has captivated gamers for decades with its compelling stories, and Tales of Arise might hold the best story in the franchise yet. I also have to mention how fine-tuned the combat plays out in this game. Even if you're not into JRPGs, I would recommend this game to any gamer.

7. Kena: Bridge of Spirits

Ember Lab is a new video game developer that made a huge splash with Kena: Bridge of Spirits. You play as Kena, a spiritual guide with magical abilities. Your whole goal is to help deceased people transition from the physical world to the spirit world. The game has a visually beautiful art style combined with a wonderfully orchestrated soundtrack. It doesn't skip on action gameplay either, there are tons of fights, and boss battles will keep you engaged throughout the story. There is a lot to explore in this game, so don't knock it down until you give it a try.

6. Psychonauts 2

The first Psychonauts game was released back in 2005, making the hype for Psychonauts 2 understandable. Players fell in love with this action-platformer for many reasons and a big one is the characters. They may seem a little quirky and odd at first, however, you can't help but fall in love and relate to them. Another reason is the story arc for Psychonauts 2. There are even bigger stakes, a more thorough backstory, and even funnier easter eggs. You don't have to be a knowledgeable fan of the series to tag along and enjoy Raz's new journey.

5. Knockout City

Knockout City is a new multiple-player game with a creative take on dodgeball. I'm not talking about your average middle school dodgeball showdown either. Knockout City has a ton of different ways to combine attacks and throw special power-up balls. The levels are diverse and the gameplay increasingly gets more advanced as you play around. There is even a solid amount of strategy incorporated into the game as you dive deeper. Overall, Knockout City is way more complex than you'd imagine and is one of the most fun multiplayer games that has come out in a while.

4. Marvel's Guardians of the Galaxy

Despite Square Enix's disappointment in sales, Marvel's Guardians of the Galaxy was a great game. The company produced a riveting single-player story game that was a lot of fun to play. The game stuck to what was great about Guardians of the Galaxy, which is its entertaining characters. All witty in their own way, you immediately feel a part of the Marvel Universe playing as Peter Quill. Of course, this game wouldn't be complete without a Guardians of the Galaxy-style soundtrack that consists of a bunch of old-time classics.

3. Resident Evil Village

Resident Evil has been a very successful video game franchise, and Resident Evil Village is no exception to that. The game plays a lot more fast-paced than Resident Evil 7: Biohazard but still with the same mechanics. It's good that the game picked up the haste as the enemies are by far the most disturbing out of all the games. Except for the monster baby. That thing still haunts me in my sleep. Overall, you are getting a very well-rounded game that will definitely get your heart rushing.

2. It Takes Two

It Takes Two is arguably one of the best overall games in 2021 and is unlike any other co-op game I have played. The game has given me the most from a co-op game since Portal 2. Now that's saying a lot, but it's the truth. There is an absurd amount of variety in each level, and they all play out differently.  The game really holds up to the title as both players have a unique role to play in each level. The game really teaches players about teamwork and personal development in a creative way.

1. Death's Door

I have talked about Death's Door in past articles because it really is a diamond in the rough. This top-down action-adventure is one of the best I have played in a very long time. Once you have caught a feel for the mechanics, the game is tough to put down. Each level is widely explorable and intrigues you into unlocking the hidden secrets it holds within. The combat is diverse, challenging, and meant to be mastered. The more you put into this game, the more you get out of it, and if you haven't tried it out, I highly suggest it.

Trading cards have always been a fun way to collect and invest yourself in a hobby. Historically, trading cards didn't get much public attention until baseball cards began to make a rise in the early 20th century. This is when trading cards really began to branch out as companies began to see trading cards could hold value as vintage items and collectibles.

Nowadays there are thousands of different types of trading cards that span across sports, video games, films, TV series, comics, and well the list goe's on. It explains why most of us grew up with a phase of collecting some type of trading cards. For me, it was always Pokémon, and not to brag but I did have a pretty impressive collection. Regardless of whatever pop culture you're into, there are most likely trading cards for it.

2022 is an exciting year for tradings cards. There are a lot of expansions and new sets coming out that you might want to get your hands on early. That's why it's time to look at the five best trading card games of 2022.

5. 2022 Upper Deck Marvel Beginnings Volume 1

Starting in 2011, Marvel released its three-part Marvel Beginnings series of trading cards. The comic-based trading card series consisted of 540 cards but ultimately ended in 2012. Finally, after a decade the company is bringing its popular trading cards back as The Marvel Beginnings Volume 1 produced by Upper Deck.

The new volume of cards is a throwback to the inception of Marvel Comics back in 1939, up until the present day. So, you will have a lot of inspiration and style taken from the classic comics mixed in with this series. Those cards especially will hold rarity, consisting of Original Sketches, Comic Clippings, Creator Autographs, and First Appearance Cards. The only issue, we don't get any pictures of the cards just yet, so keep an eye out for when they release.

4. 2022 Upper Deck Spider-Man: Into the Spider-Verse Trading Cards

Spider-Man: Into the Spider-Verse was a great take on the superhero presented in a flashy, comic-style animation. Almost every snapshot in that movie could be made into a trading card. Therefore, It only makes sense that the film expanded into beautifully crafted trading cards. Again in partnership with Upper DeckMarvel is coming out with the 2022 set of Spider-man: Into the Spider-Verse Trading Cards.

You can not only collect special variants of Miles Morales but of all of his iterations from Gwen Stacy, Peter Parker, even Peter Porker has a trading card. That is just opening the door, as you can also grab different villains and various scenes from the movie. The base cards consist of variations such as Base/Parallels, Dimensions Collide, and Autographs/Relics. The base set holds 90 cards and is estimated to release on March 2, 2022.

3. Pokémon TCG: Pokémon GO Expansion!

We all know of Pokémon trading cards, I mean most of us grew up collecting them or at least played the original games. Even if you didn't I'd bet my top dollar you gave Pokémon Go a try when it took over the world. My point is, Pokémon is coming out with a brand new expansion of trading cards based solely on Pokémon GO.

An interview from Nintendo Life, with director Michael Sternka, notes, “We've been working with The Pokémon Company on this for a very long time. Can't wait to share more in the coming months!” mentions Sternka.

For now, the only sneak peeks we have into the new trading cards are their packaging. However, what we do know is that the new trading cards will be themed after the mobile game and are due to release in the summer of 2022.

2. Pokémon TCG: Sword & Shield—Brilliant Stars Expansion

The latest Installment to the Pokémon Trading Card Game is Sword & Shield-Brilliant Stars expansion. The new expansion will arrive on February 25, 2022, and will consist of over 170 different cards. With this release will come booster boxes and Elite Trainer Boxes that contain special Pokémon VSTAR Cards.

What's new to the trading card game is a gameplay mechanic known as Pokémon VSTAR. These Pokémon will have a special VSTAR ability or attack that can greatly influence the game. On top of that, they have especially high health, and damage attacks.

There are only four VSTAR Pokémon and can be found in special Sword & Shield—Brilliant Stars packs. Those four Pokémon are, Arceus VSTAR, Charizard VSTAR, Shaymin VSTAR, and Whimsicott VSTAR.

1. Magic: The Gathering – Streets of New Capenna

The biggest card game in the world, Magic: The Gathering is having an exciting new set called Streets of New Capenna. It is said to release in the second quarter of 2022, with full spoiler events coming soon. We don't know too much about the new set or what it will look like just yet, but we do know a little bit about the backstory.

Streets of New Capenna is based around the theme of crooks and gangsters in the Magic: The Gathering realm. So, expect an illustration style that is heavily inspired by film noir. There will be five crime families, each with their own abilities and playstyle, and represented by a specific tricolor set. Another key feature we know is that Elspeth Tirel holds a special connection to Capenna and will have a heavy influence on this plane. Those are all the specifics we know so far without getting into conspiracies.

Let us know what trading cards you are most excited about in the comments below.
