5 Things Players Want to See in Final Fantasy XVI DLC

With an entry as massive as Final Fantasy XVI, many game franchises would be content with just this title. However, with such an expansive world full of characters and moments and quests people love, people want more. This is great, as it is not only a testament to the quality of the base game. But also as an indicator of what is to come. That said, players want to see quite a lot. Without further ado, here are the 5 Things Players Want to See in Final Fantasy XVI DLC.

5. Hunt DLC

Best Armor & Accessories in Final Fantasy 16

For players looking for more of a challenge, the possibility of Hunt DLCs would be fantastic. This would allow not only the creative departments behind the game to flex their creature design muscles. But also allow for players to participate in fantastic Hunts. While in the main game, the Hunts are seen as somewhat secondary, that is precisely why they would make perfect DLC material. The ability to weave in these Hunts with aspects of the story would also be fantastic to see. Additionally, the developers could add more mechanics into these fights to use as somewhat of a testbed for later products.

The Hunts have been a part of Final Fantasy history for quite some time. So seeing an implementation of that system expounded upon would be great. Additionally, players could even receive great in-game rewards for completing such challenging content. This would not only do a great job of incentivizing the player to play the content but also give an air of prestige to these players. It is for these reasons, and many more that Hunt DLC would be a fantastic addition to Final Fantasy XVI DLC.

4. New Continents

Following up on our last entry of the things players want from a Final Fantasy XVI DLC, we have new continents. The world within the game is already so sprawling and vast, however, players want more. There are plenty of continents that we hear about in the game, but never get to visit. This seems like a perfect opportunity to make more content for the game while tying it directly into this game's lore. This would appease not only those players who care a ton about narrative but also will group together fans of worldbuilding in games in the process.

This is wonderful, and it would also give players more room to explore throughout the game, which is fantastic. The world of Final Fantasy XVI is already so vibrant and lived-in, but a DLC surrounding this would only serve to deepen those connections. Doing so will not only improve the overall player's connection to the world itself. But it also gives plenty of room for the writers to work their magic. This, as well as many other factors, are just some of the reasons why new continents would be perfect for Final Fantasy XVI DLC.

3. DLC Surrounding Dion

For our next entry, we have the proposal of a DLC surrounding Dion. Dion is one of the most popular characters in Final Fantasy XVI. This can be seen in the fans' support of them, as well as many other aspects. So, it would be incredibly interesting to get a DLC surrounding this character, whether we get to play as Dion or view the world from a similar lens. Either of these options would perform beautifully, and see players looking at the world in a whole new light.

This fact, coupled with the fact that there has been interest shown in doing more work surrounding Dion, gives great hope for this idea. It would simply be phenomenal to see more of this character in any capacity. However, a full-fledged character DLC would perhaps be the best way of incorporating this idea. So, while it might not be the flashiest idea ever. A DLC surrounding Dion would be absolutely fantastic and a welcome addition to the Final Fantasy XVI DLC roster.

2. DLC Surrounding Joshua

Staying somewhat in the same vein as our last entry, next, we have a DLC surrounding Joshua. Joshua, much like Dion is one of the most popular characters in Final Fantasy XVI, this makes the idea of DLC surrounding him enticing. Players could take on a whole new perspective in the game, playing through Joshua's eyes. Seeing the events of the game unfold this way could not only deepen their connection with the narrative but be great fun. Additionally, the powers that Joshua has could even be expounded upon, making for great gameplay as well.

There is a point in the game where Josua must hide their identity from the player. This would be a great way to set up being able to play as them and perhaps see the events unfold that way. This could give a sense of perspective that we don't have in the current game. Additionally, there is a wealth of hidden knowledge that Joshua knows is beginning to be uncovered. This alone would be enough incentive to create a great DLC. Altogether, this would be a great idea for the developers to use.

1. Leviathan DLC

Now, for our final entry, we have perhaps the most requested DLC offering. A DLC surrounding Leviathan and its secrets would be absolutely spectacular. Seeing as the Eikon has such as iconic presence in the Final Fantasy franchise, their absence is definitely noted. This would make for a great DLC for several reasons, perhaps it would vie new insight about the world around the player, or the Eikons as a whole. Either way, it would surely be interesting and a great way to flesh out lesser fleshed-out parts of the game.

This could also allow the developers to do some really cool things. These things include things such as creating a city around the praise of the Leviathan. Who is notably missing from the main game? Additionally, adding the power of Leviathan to Clive's arsenal seems like a no-brainer. And, from a graphical spectacle standpoint, it would make a lot of sense to use the water powers of Leviathan to great effect. To wrap things up. A Leviathan DLC would give us more insight about the world, and perhaps another great duel with one of the Eikons within Final Fantasy XVI.
