Resident Evil 5 Remake: What’s Happening?

Published

 on

Given the staggeringly high amount of praise that the Resident Evil 4 Remake received, it makes sense that Capcom would ideally want to swiftly move on to Resident Evil 5 next, right? Well, as it turns out, the studio’s next project won’t actually be the most logical choice, but the item that fans of the brand select in a survey posted to social media. Makes sense, I suppose.

Of course, the blatant contenders in this particular situation are both Resident Evil 5, and Code: Veronica. Another request that’s been making its rounds, surprise surprise, is the ever-popular Dino Crisis. That said, with Exoprimal carrying that very torch in memory of the PlayStation cult classic, we can pretty much chalk that one out of the draw at this point.

It goes without saying that, with the amount of momentum the rebooted versions of Resident Evil has  conjured these past few years, remaking Resident Evil 5 just seems like the natural thing to do. But then, until the fans have officially spoken and a final vote has been cast, it’s honestly hard to say what IP the acclaimed developer will dig up next.

When Is Resident Evil 5 Remake Coming Out?

Whatever the case may be, it’s fair to say that Capcom, being the workaholics they are, aren’t likely to draw their focus onto another instalment in the Resident Evil saga just yet, anyway. Matter of fact, between this very moment and the likelihood of seeing the fifth remake come knocking idles several half-finished projects. So, if you’re going to get your hopes up for anything — make sure it’s the survey’s final reading coming sooner rather than later.

Interested in filling out your vote? You can submit your answer over on the survey posted here. We’ll be sure to let you know just as soon as Capcom sheds light on its next working title. Until then, it’s merely the case of crossing fingers and twiddling thumbs.

So, what’s your take? Do you think we’ll be seeing Resident Evil 5 hit the shelves at any point next year? Let us know your thoughts over on our socials here.
