Dead Island 2 release date has been revised, and the game will not launch on April 28. The good news is that it's not another delay. Dambuster Studios and Deep Silver have announced that the game will now be released a week ahead of schedule.

Dead Island will now be released on April 21. The news is a surprise to the fans of the horror game, especially with the game's long and troubled development history with several delays. The game will cost $59.99, which is $10 less than several other recently released AAA titles.

Alongside the new release announcement, the developers revealed that the game has gone gold. Therefore, the developers have completed the game's primary development, and it's ready for printing on discs and shipping. Dead Island 2 going gold is a clear indication that the game will not suffer more delays.

The developers did not explain the decision to move the game a week forward. However, one can speculate that Dambuster and Deep Silver may have wanted to avoid competition with EA and Respawn's Star Wars Jedi: Survivor

EA had scheduled to release Star Wars Jedi: Survivor in March. However, the publisher postponed the game's release to April 28th to allow the development team to further refine the game.

First revealed in 2014, Dead Island 2, a zombie-themed action role-playing game, has undergone a series of setbacks, delays, and developer changes. Yager, the studio behind Spec Ops: The Line, initially worked on the game. Yager would later hand over development responsibilities to Sumo Digital. In 2019, Dambuster, an internal studio at Deep Silver, assumed control of the game's development.

Dead Island 2 will now release on April  PS5, PS4, Xbox Series X/S, Xbox One, and PC via the Epic Games Store.
