That means you're getting a much sharper and detailed image that really is making games more realistic and immersive. That is why you should absolutely check out some of the best action games on the Oculus Quest 2, as they will undoubtedly have your heart racing with adrenaline. So, if you're up for a challenge, let's jump into the action.

5. Onward

Onward was one of the first action FPS games to be released on the original Oculus Quest, back in 2016. Its popularity and success as a VR mil-sim has continued to grow, and as a result, the game remains relevant on the Oculus Quest 2. As a mil-sim, you must perfect your abilities because you will be playing with no crosshair or minimap, therefore your fate will be determined by your communication, teamwork, and pure ability to take down enemies.

The game features multiplayer battles with up to ten players, in three objective-based game modes. The first one is a full-out firefight for control over an Uplink station. Or if you want a bit more tactical gameplay, one game mode sees you securing an area long enough to upload a code through your tablet. And if you really want to feel the adrenaline, head into VIP mode.

The game consists of 11 maps, however, there's also a community hub where you can explore custom-made maps in the game. On top of that, there is a variety of guns, that you must learn how to operate if you want to utilize them in the event of battle. If you want some intense firefight action, Onward is by far the best pick for the Oculus Quest 2.

4. Stride

STRIDE Multiplayer Update - Announcement Trailer

Who said action has to be filled with weapons and explosions? We're pretty sure Hollywood would disagree, but we're looking at a different kind of action in Stride. Be prepared to feel the action both inside and outside your VR because Stride is all about high-octane parkour madness. Which will surely get you to break a sweat as your work learns the games fast-playing mechanics. Once you've mastered them, it will really feel like you can fly in this game.

You can run, climb, jump and wall-run your way through single-player modes like Arena and Time Run. If you have the energy, attempt Endless mode, which has a continually developing and changing map that you must adapt to. Once you believe you've mastered the gameplay and your abilities, head over to multipalyer to put them to the test in King of the Hill or Horde mode. Which, we can guarantee, authentically offers you the action feeling of being chased and certainly gets your adrenaline pumping.

3. Resident Evil 4 VR

Resident Evil 4 | Full Length Gameplay Trailer | Oculus Quest 2

That's right, Resident Evil 4 has been remade exclusively for the Oculus Quest 2. Meaning you get to experience its horror-action gameplay from a truly new and terrifying perspective in VR. This time around, you'll literally be stepping into Leon's shoes as you work to save the U.S. president's daughter throughout the story. But it won't be easy, as you'll have to battle toe-to-toe with some of the original game's renowned bosses, which is nothing short of action-packed.

Face off against, El Gigante, Lord Saddler, Chief Mendez and Ramon Salazar like you never have before. This will be hard because Resident Evil 4 VR really set's the fear into you, making its action game-play that much more crucial and intense. So keep your gun close by since you never know when or what you'll encounter, even if it's only your head making up noises. In our opinion, Resident Evil 4 VR is some of the best horror-action gameplay on the Oculus Quest 2.

2. Superhot VR

One thing Hollywood can agree with, is that action is made more epic in slow-motion. That's exactly the scope of Superhot VR, as the in-game timing is coordinated with your movements. Full of fast-paced decisions, you must think quickly, act quickly, and calculate your plan. Who will you shoot first? What will you grab to defend yourself after? And the one everyone forgets, is there somebody behind me?

The game has 19 levels that consist of around 4-5 sections per level. Each is unique and poses a different challenge, making every level a fresh experience that is distinct from the others. And it all comes down to just exactly how you want to best this challenge. From dodging bullets to even slicing them in half, Superhot VR is everything you could ask for from a slow-mo action game.
